I listen to Amazon Music mostly on my Mac and it sounds pretty good, I’ve never streamed Apple Music and cant compare that, though I do play my ripped music with the Apple Music App on my phone and it sounds about the same as the Amazon App from there. As for settings, I’ve been tinkering with the exclusive mode setting on the AHD Music app for Mac, and I’ve yet to see it actually make a change, it seems like a placebo, they give you check boxes that seem like they should be good, but don’t actually do anything. Use what sounds good to you. As for the wireless part, if you can live with always being in the same room (roughly), then BT should work well. If you want more freedom and distance, look for a WiFi solution. I managed to get Amazon to play through Jriver MC on my HTPC (using the WDM driver), the HTPC is hooked up to the XMC-2 which is showing 48/24 when Amazon is playing but it still sounds ordinary to me. I cant use my Harmony remote to control Amazon in the HTPC so I'd rather use a phone or Tablet to control it (I hate using keyboard and mouse in living areas). The BT5.0 is supposed to have a range of 200m which is fine for what I need. Of course if it sounds crap I'd rather just BT to a portable sound bar and be done with it. I'm not going to subject my Emotiva and Dynaudio gear to substandard sound! So on the Windows AHD app they also have exclusive mode, have you played with it? and have you seen the sample rate actually change if you play songs with different sample rates (44, 88, 96, etc — monitored on your XMC). Wow, 200m, that’s plenty!

I just set my sound card to default to 24/48 since Dirac is going to make it that likely. I think exclusive mode sounds a hair better, but it isn't fully working and often crashes. I tried JRiver, but there was delay and it was flaky. Also, I don't think that between AHD and JRiver is exclusive, so I'm not sure it accomplishes anything. I think it sounds stellar though. Definitely not flat and thin. Make sure all the settings are set for the highest quality. Confirm the bit rate the button by the song name says to be sure you are sending at least HD quality. On your soundcard, select 24/48 (studio) for the shared mode tab. Make sure all enhancements are off. Lastly, make sure you speaker config, in the soundcard properties set all speakers to large. Let the G3P figure that out. This isn't bitstreaming or using exclusive.. So, all the little details come into play. If it still sounds really bad, there's something wrong. AHD quality is definitely good.

I have one, it’s great. A lot better sound than I was getting through AirPlay on my AppleTV (which bitrate wise makes sense). While not expensive, it is a good bit more than those $100 Bluetooth boxes

While not expensive, it is a good bit more than those $100 Bluetooth boxes Thanks, since the unit is a streamer I hope that they keep the software updated. My Onkyo for example still hasn't updated the apps and software to take advantage of Amazon Music HD. The unit only dealing with Streaming I'd hope keeps up to date with most streaming companies. Also, my router is located in another room. Instead of going wireless I'm going to give these network units a try which run through the power lines: www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTNKNPZ/?coliid=I10QNNMU6D19DP&colid=1R9GRVJFMYL3N&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_itI have an IT enterprise bro that swears by these.

Should arrive soon and I'm anxious to try Qobuz streaming service.
