Hey folks,
I have an XMC-2 and I'm looking for ways to stream amazon music from my Galaxy phone or Samsung tablet to it.
Sorry for the dumb question but how are people doing this?
Preferably Id like the XMX-2 to do the DA conversion and Id like to control it from a distance, is this possible?
If so how?
Cheers!

Quickest, simplest, easiest way to do it would be this: Emotiva BTR-1. Connects digitally to your XMC-2 so you can use it's DACs and features set and reasonably affordable.

Nice thing about it is that it is WIFI instead of Bluetooth so, like in my case, all of my gear is in a basement media room but I can control it as long as I am in range of the WIFI. I have a speakers in my deck that I run with an Emotiva A100 amp and I can be on the deck and control everything with my phone or tablet which you cannot do via Bluetooth. Google discontinued these but you might be able to find one on E Bay or maybe Craig's List. There should be a product out there that would work just the same I would think.

I would opt for a WiFi solution as well, I carry my iPhone all over the property and can stream music via an AirPort anywhere I have WiFi. An Android version of this would be what I’d look for, unless you only plan to stream ‘in the room’.

Should work with just about any device.

I wasn't a fan of the analog output going in to my DC-1/SP-1 combo compared to the digital out. Neither were bad, just preferred one over the other.

I don't know why but I find the general SQ of the Amazon Music App to be far worse than Apple music? Is there some setting in Amazon that needs to be selected? It sounds thin, compressed and lacking in depth to me.

It sounds thin, compressed and lacking in depth to me. I listen to Amazon Music mostly on my Mac and it sounds pretty good, I’ve never streamed Apple Music and cant compare that, though I do play my ripped music with the Apple Music App on my phone and it sounds about the same as the Amazon App from there. As for settings, I’ve been tinkering with the exclusive mode setting on the AHD Music app for Mac, and I’ve yet to see it actually make a change, it seems like a placebo, they give you check boxes that seem like they should be good, but don’t actually do anything. Use what sounds good to you. As for the wireless part, if you can live with always being in the same room (roughly), then BT should work well. If you want more freedom and distance, look for a WiFi solution.

I managed to get Amazon to play through Jriver MC on my HTPC (using the WDM driver), the HTPC is hooked up to the XMC-2 which is showing 48/24 when Amazon is playing but it still sounds ordinary to me. I cant use my Harmony remote to control Amazon in the HTPC so I'd rather use a phone or Tablet to control it (I hate using keyboard and mouse in living areas). The BT5.0 is supposed to have a range of 200m which is fine for what I need. Of course if it sounds crap I'd rather just BT to a portable sound bar and be done with it. I'm not going to subject my Emotiva and Dynaudio gear to substandard sound!
