Hello Emo family,
Thought this may be beneficial to those interested in this somewhat newer brand.
Hard to find much info on these newer (Jolida) amps, so I eventually said what the heck and bought one.
I need to emphasize, this is not a tubes are better than solid state post, but rather me just taking my hobby in a different direction.
I've been super happy with my prior Emo setup.
This year, I made the decision to consolidate to a tube integrated. I've had this amp For a couple of months driving T2's and B&W N804's and have been really impressed with it. There is certainly a tube presence in my system, and I enjoy it.
It lacks some headroom compared to the xpa-1L monoblocks, but that was to be expected, but still plenty of power. I would imagine it will pair well with my Klipsch Chorus, but I have been too lazy to haul them up from the basement theater system.
The tube headphone is wonderful, certainly drawing me back into headphone listening.
Since there is no phono stage built in I have been dabbling with standalone phono preamps...and now using a Audio by Van Alstine Vision Q...sure is a wonderful match for my low output MC cartridges.
For the price, I am very impressed and can easily recommend to anyone interested.
I'm enjoying it more than my old Mesa Baron amp, and that is a beast of a tube amp.
Hope someone may find this helpful if they are looking in this direction.

Not enough power for that kind of money š°. Good luck with it nevertheless Ugh....Whatās with the negativity, what value did your comment bring? I doubt you have ACTUALLY heard this amplifier.... Power/price argument is pointless. Everything is relative to speakers and your room. And value is perceived differently. What someone perceives as a better value and/or more powerful, is so irrelevant because its all subjective. Iām well past chasing that dragon.

Black Ice (previously Jolida) is company that's been making respectable equipment for quite some time now. Not sure which amp you have, F11, F22, or F35. The F22 seems to have the same tube complement as my classic Marantz 8b which is rated 35 watts per channel. They seem to get 50 watts per channel out of their F22 somehow. I don't have any Black Ice, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy the brand. You should definitely hook yours up with fairly efficient speakers at least 88 to 90 db. Enjoy!

Power should not be the only decision gate on a good amplifier. So much more involved here.

Good luck with it āPower/price argument is pointless.ā Well sir, no arguments here....we simply part company regarding WATTS PER DOLLAR.....thatās a huge factor indeed āEverything is relative to speakers and your room. And value is perceived differently.ā Oversimplification......low power can be ok for near field listening or a small room, but in my space and loudspeaker requirements I need serious headroom to protect my systems.

I agree with you on using efficient speakers as well. One day I will lug my Klipsch upstairs....just not today ...š¬š¬š¬

The T2 is 90 db efficient and Emotiva suggests 200 watts minimum (they don't make much any amp smaller and they definitely don't make tube amps). I saw a review of your B&Ws and they were nicely driven by a Cary Audio SLI-80, a tube amp that puts out 80 watts. This amp will probably sound nice on all of your speakers. And those Klipsch speakers you have will probably sound great on tube power(less edgy).

Iāve never been a huge fan of Klipsch, but found a old pair of Chorus iiās for $300 and couldnāt pass them up. They were in my garage setup for the longest time, then we decided to do a basement theater system for the kiddos, and they have been there ever since. I used to sell sell hifi way back in the B&W Matrix 801 days, and also when the Nautilus line was just introduced. I remember being so excited waiting for after hours when the store closed just so we could lock the doors, drink beer, and jam out. Never made much money, but those were some good times. Iāve been out of the hifi business for a long time. With those experiences, (and setting up systems in customers homes) I learned some (of those vintage) B&W speakers can be so darn finicky. Reminds me somewhat of Magenpans (another speaker I love) ....and I certainly understand why some people are turned off by them, but once the owner finds the right setup for them (which is a moving target for the individual) they can be very rewarding.

Those B&W 801ās.... In 1988 I bought a pair of the earliest Carver 1.0tās. They did not have the later rear bridging switch and I didnāt want to use āYā connectors, so they opened them up at the dealership and did for me, an internal bridge. They had a huge Perreaux, on the floor that nobody wanted to lift. My sales guy smiled and asked me if we could have some fun before I took those puppies home. That meant hooking them up to the 801ās to compare their bridged performance to the Perreaux. They drove the B&Wās mightily and loud and we couldnāt tell the difference except for the price tag.
