Hi! I've ordered a few items on July 22nd, shipped on the 28th (partial fulfillment) and customs status updated on the same day. Since then, I haven't received the parcel and the DHL tracking pages don't go further than the customs status on the 28th ("Shipment has been given a release by Customs").
It's been almost one month, while DHL is usually fast. I live in Montréal, Canada, Québec province.
Should I worry? Other Canadian customers, have you experienced similar shipping times during summer/Covid-19?

I think for me, my XMC-1 was about 6 days to get to Alberta. Purchased at the end of July a My XPA 5, ordered a week after I received the XMC to 2.5 days. Purchased August 9th. Was VERY happy about that. Neither were sent with Loomis. Both were through UPS, not a company I would every use personally, but seems to have worked will with what was sent from Emotiva though, At the company I worked for we used to us Loomis for 10-20 shipments a day. Reliable and quick delivery for years. Then about a year ago. High value shipments started vanishing. Only to be, "found" weeks or months later. We only use Purolator now, hasn't been anything missed in over a year. Canadian

Hi, thanks for the reply. I will contact Emotiva, considering that we're approaching 4-5 times the delay you've got. I haven't had any problem for 20 years of online shopping: hope it'll be OK!

What did you order, usually the bigger items ship with UPS and if it's smaller items they would go DHL, most stuff I order goes to the US side of the border where a buddy of mine picks it up for me and brings it over, and he can still do this as he drives truck and crosses the border weekly. I would contact Emotiva and/or DHL to see what is going on as over a month seems lengthy even in these times ? Chad

I ordered 4 items: the BasX A-100 amplifier, the Phono preamp, the BTR-1 Bluetooth system and the AC line filter. So 4 small items, so DHL makes sense as per as your explanation. Emotiva website indicates that only the amplifier was sent, while the DHL tracking page lists 4 items without the details. DHL hasn't marked the shipment as "delivered" and I was at home during all business hours (teleworking and happy cats ) I contacted both Emotiva and DHL. I'll be on vacation during the next few days, I'll see what's happening when I'm back!

Hi jy I also live in Montreal area, and waiting an Emo shippement via USPS since 3rd of august, and another shippement the 19 August for my Dirac kit again with USPS, I must be patient... Did you received somethings since your last post?

Salut Frenchy Francky! The fact that the shipment was long didn't worry me (a few items from the USA took a month), actually what has been unusual is the lack of shipping progress status plus the contradictory pieces of info from different sources (even from internal DHL systems and people). Finally, Emotiva was VERY professional and made me get my shipment!

The Emotiva shipping department uses different carriers and different services with each carrier with different results.
UPS seems to be used for the heavier items........Amplifiers/Processors/Subs etc etc and Emotiva uses different methods within UPS for shipment..ie Worldwide expedited or Express etc etc......For what its worth for other Canadians on here....depending on which service is used with UPS.......If you are willing to do a little legwork.....you can save a big chunk of change and avoid the Brokerage fees. (In my case, I saved over $390 with several shipments). UPS allows you to Self Clear your package instead of paying some outrageous Brokerage Fees.
Call UPS brokerage and advise you want to self clear the package. They will Email Docs to you. Take Docs to CBSA local facility that handles this and pay the Duties and Taxes applicable. Send stamped Docs from CBSA back to UPS and they will release the shipment so no fees are payable on arrival.
If you do this in a timely manner.....It does not hold up the shipment and usually get it on the same planned day or a day later.
As for USPS (preferred DIRAC and smaller shipments).Not quite as efficient. Usually sent USPS Worldwide 1st Class Express.You can use the tracking number on the USPS website but it will only show progress till it departs the US. The Customs Clearance you see is US outbound Clearance.....Not Canadian Customs Clearance. When the package arrives in Canada......It has to go through Canadian Customs Clearance even though no taxes or duties are applicable.......With Covid, this is running in the 1-4 week process right now....after release. You can track it on Canada Post website (https://www.canadapost.ca/trackweb/en#/home) with the same tracking number if it ends in "US"
DHL and some other carriers have also been used

I just ordered an XMC-2 but its been two weeks as "paid/unfulfilled" apparently is sitting in the wharehouse, no idea what is going on. Will give it another week then cancel the order.

Best thing to do is call them, sometimes stuff can get messed up, especially in 2020 but they have great CS so hopefully they can get things on track for you. Cheers, Chad

Just called and it should go out today and tomorrow. I totally understand things will take a bit longer given covid and the time of year.
