I just received the A-100. Sounds nice with my warm HD6XX headphones. I'm looking for a pair of speakers that would work well with this amp. I'm trying to go for a neutral-to-warm-but-engaging signature. So far I've tried the Q Acoustics 3030i (poor detail), the ELAC DBR 62 (excellent quality but dull), the Triangle Borea BR03 (engaging, the best so far, but can be a little too bright especially with cymbals in jazz). I guess I'm looking for a cross between the Elacs and the Triangles. Thought about the Wharfedale 225's, but they're pretty inefficient and probably require a beefier amp.
Any suggestions?

Ascend CBM-170SE or CMT-340SE Mains? Neither one is going to win any style award (especially the CBM-170), but they are efficient and definitely neutral.

Emotiva B1 or Emotiva T-zero (preferred). Both very good

Try the Klipsch RP-600m speakers - Dynamic as all get out, and would run great with your amp (plus they won't break the bank).

Have you tried them with the A-100? Hi rhz - I've not tried them directly with the A-100, but I have run them with the Emotiva PA-1 amplifiers, with pro amplifiers, and with tubes. The Klipsches CAN be bright, but if you don't listen directly on axis, their brightness is easily controlled with toe-in/out. The HEIGHT of the stands also has a GREAT deal to do with the voicing of the little 600m speakers. If the speakers' tweeters are below or at ear level, they sound significantly brighter. But if the speakers are on slightly higher stands (I used 28" ones), then the woofer is at ear level, and the speaker is MUCH better balanced with the treble far less hot. Happy shopping!

I once tried my T1 towers on both my A-100 and TA-100 with great results, but speakers are always a user preference thing so it's hard to tell someone what they would like, though I do like the Airmotiv line myself, I own three T1's for my LCR and a pair of powered Airmotiv 5S speakers on my desk(no longer sold). I have seen multiple people using the A-100 with the Airmotiv T0 and seemed to really like it. Cheers, Chad

I will keep my opinion of that website to myself 🙂. I can only tell you that I own the CMT-340SE and they are definitely not bright, although they are not subdued either. I have never heard the CBM-170SE, but I do not recall reading comments by somebody who actually owned a pair about them being bright. Even some of the comments following that review say that. At any rate, speakers are as much a matter of personal preference as of specs and measurements.

My son have a combo TA-100 and Airmotiv B1 and it's sounds very good, detailed, dynamic and warm enought. Very live sounding. The TA-100 and A-100 must be very simillar amp results and sounding.
