I have a Emotiva RMC-1 Version 2.1.
I purchased in the UK in March 2019.
I don't have Dirac set up as yet.
I have connected to it a 1. Zappiti Media Player connected via HDMI 2.0
2. Oppo UDP-205 Connected via a)HDMI 2.0 , b) XLR Balanced stereo connections.
3. Play Station 4 Connected via HDMI 2.0
4. Toshiba HD-DVD Connected via HDMI 1.4
Everything had been playing until a couple of weeks ago when I started to get audio dropouts when listening to music.
I first noticed this when Playing a usb hard drive connected to my Oppo with all my music files on it. It would play fine and then
I would lose all sound for a few seconds and then the sound returned. I initially thought maybe my hard drive was failing. I
have a second hard drive with a back up of all my music and connected that. The same thing happened. I then noticed that my CD's
DVD-Audio discs and SACD discs also had the same problem. This made no difference whether playing via HDMI or XLR. I swapped
HDMI cables and also connected to a separate HDMI Input on the RMC-1. The problem still existed. I then connected my USB music files
to my Zappiti player and played the files through that. Both my hard drives still lost audio. This suggests that the RMC-1
is causing the problem. To prove this I removed my Oppo and connected it to an Onkyo receiver I have in my bedroom. I played
all medias and there has been no problem at all.
Prior to this when I updated my RMC-1, I followed the update instructions to the letter. I removed all power cables from my sources
and HDMI cables. I carried out a factory reset of the RMC-1 and restored my settings after following all guidelines. I even restored
my Oppo to Factory settings.
Prior to updating to 2.1 ,I resorted back to 1.10 to see if that resolved the issue. It didn't. I had been listening to music for
weeks with 2.0 and it had been playing fine. Nothing in my system has changed in this time.
I cannot think of anything else that could be causing this other than the RMC-1.
