OK which would you pick to match with a XRC-1 Woops XMC-1
Emo A-500 - 80 watt all 5 driven
Or the Outlaw Audio 5000? 120 all 5 driven
Or really even the Emo XPA-5 200 all 5 driven
I realize they are kind of not in the same class. But is there really a large difference?

From what I've seen of the JSE speakers you have, the A-500 is probably good enough. But is something that's "good enough" enough? The XPA-5 should be more than enough. I'm not knowledgeable on the Outlaw amps, but heard good things about them.

I find it easy to drive the A-700 into territory where the sound starts to degrade -- very clean at low volume, but moderately loud, into moderately-efficient speakers, in a room with plenty of absorbent features, it lacks something. The A-300 does much better. Haven't heard anything Outlaw. The XPA-5 might make you far happier than the A-500, unless you have either highly efficient speakers, or never turn it up too far.

I have the 7000X and really love it, the XLR if needed or not is another story but it just feels right using them haha, I would go with the 5000X, I've mentioned before that Emotiva needs an amplifier line that competes with the Model X line from Outlaw.

I started with the A-500 driving some low sensitivity speakers (Elac UF5's). The A-500 sounded excellent in a 14x18 room at way loud enough volume. I upgraded to the XPA-5 and the sound was marginally better. The low end had more definition with the XPA than with the A-500. The A-500 is a bargain amp for the $ and sound quality.

Value and Performance. Your top Amplifiers here are the XPA-5 and the 5000x. No doubt about it. If you are wanting the beef. These are it. The A-500 is a nice middle ground for not much scratch. Deal breaker there? No balanced inputs. The XMC-1 outputs exclusively Balanced XLR outputs. End of the the universe??? No! You can get XLR Balanced to unbalanced RCA and carry on fine with the A-500. The XPA-5 and the 5000x are ready to go. XLR balanced all the way. No adapting. Peachy!
If you want to really swing the vote to a do it once and for all, power is always your friend in a dynamic environment such as today's Movies. Blue Rays are packed full of dynamics and excitement. Your amplifier should effortlessly get it done with headroom to spare. I think sure you will save a few hundred on the A-500 amplifier and a very good amplifier it is. Only thing, you may run out of reserves with that one if you are really pushing to close to theater levels. The XPA-5 and the 5000x are going to handle those demands far better. Power supplies folks. Swing voltage and current. Both of those are going to get it done with far fewer excuses when you push it a bit. Just keeping this honest and real. Famous motto from a wise man I spoke with. "Buy it nice, or buy it twice."
