Thought I post here in the DIY. I have a JL Audio Fathom 110 subwoofer that died a few weeks ago. I am bartering for a NEW subwoofer for my HT and I do not intend to have the JL repaired. Aesthetically it is in good shape. It is not something that cannot be fixed. I was in contact with JL and cost repairs with shipping would be around $700.00. JL will pay for return shipping. MY PRICE $400.00 PREFER LOCAL PICKUP. I have manual, and mic. Delaware County area in Pennsylvania. I am willing to meet at a general location. If anyone is interested please PM.
Thanks to all.
SOLD!

Oh man, that’s a steal. Do you know if it is the amplifier that broke or the speaker? If the amplifier, it might be worth pulling it and taking a look at the board to see if anything obvious let the smoke out. Sometimes if you post that stuff on Reddit Ask Electronics things can be repaired for a few pennies at home with just a soldering iron. One way to look at it: it’s already broken so what’s the worst that could happen?
Another thing to consider: the subwoofer in that cabinet is a W7. They go used for $500 easy. You could consider pulling that sub and selling it. You should be able to get more than $200.

I do not intend to pull the unit apart,,but thank you for the information..I have already had it to a reputable electronic repair shop in my area. The woofer itself and amplifier are fine. It's a circuit board that JL AUdio told the tech needs work. It's a priority and therefore needs to be sent in for repair. I bought this used for $1000.00, 11 years ago. I certainly got my monies worth. I rather unload it and invest into something new. I intend to also put it on audio mart. Thanks again, Frank

I thought this was $200. Did you raise the price to $400?

And, as noted, worth even more!! I will just add - good luck with the sale and keep my other opinions on a broken sub and it’s associated risks to myself 😊.

I thought this was $200. Did you raise the price to $400? Sorry for the late response. Yes I did. I underestimated the value. The Woofer, amplifier, and crossover are not the problem $400.00 is still a good price.
