I've been signed up with UPS and FedEx for many years so when something is coming my way, I'm alerted, plus the tracking seems easier with the apps.
Well, I just signed up with USPS for the same service, and it's already come in handy and works better than I would've thought. I ordered a couple things from Emo this week and it was shipped by the now world famous Smart Post that Emo likes to use. So the package shipped Tuesday night, arrived at the UPS hub yesterday afternoon, then arrived at the local distribuiton center 7 miles away early this morning. Then it was "transferred" to the "post office". Don't know which one, but a post office.
Going into the USPS app shows that it was transferred to my local post office! It's expected to be delivered tomorrow. Technically it would've been delivered today if I had upgraded to UPS Ground, but that's not a guarantee like I discovered earlier this year. Could be a day earlier than Smart Post like the first time I upgraded, or just a crap shoot and be a day or more later - like what happened to me the second time I did the upgrade - 4 days later.
As we all know, USPS doesn't have a good track record on tracking due to minimal updates. But this experience is giving me some hope that maybe I'll have a better idea what's going on. If the bubble bursts quickly, I won't be surprised. At least I will have tried.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Here is the tracking for a First Class Package via USPS, the package, containing medicine, was/is going from Las Vegas to New York. You may have to enlarge this, but as of tonight there is no further update.

(sorry, just had to do this because her bags went to the same place)
