Depends on the setup configuration. In my case, the drivers in the front soundstage are all out beyond all reflective surfaces, but true otherwise the reflections could be potentially impactful. Similarly, a center channel should not be recessed on a ledge for the same reasons. True...then there's my speakers...Maggies. Front and back firing... Mark I wonder if that couldn’t be a positive thing back reflections....and EQ controlled....

For my 2-channel listening, I have found that (with my XMC-1) I prefer to not have EQ controlled. With multi-channel listening, it's a different story. So, 2-channel without any digital control is my priority. I am, however, thinking that if that is and issue - I could hang something (a VERY large absorbing panel) in front of the TV and move it out of the way once I wanted to watch a movie. I could also move the TV out of the way for 2-channel but that it likely to be heavier AND require longer cables (not good for 4K and other reasons). Mark

I pulled the plug on the 86" LG UN8570PUC today. I found it for $1499, and I learned it's being discontinued. I am very happy with my 65" LG in my living room, and this one has a better processor and basically all the same other features - including the "magic remote" which is quite nice. So, a larger LG in the theater should be nice. And, the bulb in my projector is needing replaced, so...good time to make the leap.
I did end up buying from Best Buy - which I don't like, but...every person has their price and saving an additional $200 is mine. And, if it does go on sale for lower - they said their might price match even if the price drop occurs over Black Friday/Cyber Monday...which would be nice.
I also got a wall mount, AND...my son will be arriving home from Purdue next week - so I will have help wall-mounting the TV! (TV is set to arrive 11/30...)

Somehow you’ve reminded me of a few things involving this sport.... One was the first plasma TV’s that were smaller than your latest but way over 10k! Next is the help of your son (where was he when I needed him??) I got 3 items in place in my room that I should not have done solo....but somehow made it. 115lb sub. And my mains at 100 lbs apiece.

I know that this TV is going to be heavy, so my timing could not be more perfect with him coming home. I should have planned better when I got my sub! I think it's 175 pounds. I haven't told him yet. I expect an eye-roll. But, hey - he's a 21 year old in Navy ROTC and in a lot better shape than me. Mark
