This is getting more popular now with more new units. With Holidays sale already started for some brands, I am eyeing on the Samsung Premier, the cheaper model & Optoma CinemaX Pro.

I've used ultrashort throw for work. It works reasonably well but the picture wasn't all that big (cheap projector)

I find this technology fascinating ever since I saw the Sony laser version that cost $25k a few years ago. It was an OUTSTANDING picture in very bright room light! This was the case as long as you got the matching screen. But still . . . .
If these new less expensive projectors are 25% as good they would still be amazing, and at one tenth the price they'd be very attractive!

We've had a BenQ 1080 short throw for 3 years. Excellent picture. Having to sell it because we are moving.
