I've got the SE8 sub and like it, and I bet the SE12 is also a good sub especially for the money. But that reviewer... I don't put any credence in what he says. All his reviews are weird. |

Is it really necessary to fill his review with profanity? I wish my mother was still alive. She would wash his mouth out with a Fels Naptha Laundry Soap Bar! It has been 70 years and I can still taste that soap.  BTW: This guy is an idiot to place his sub in an adjoining closet. Using the subwoofer crawl is not the only way to effectively place a sub for good low bass performance. I can see several locations in that room that I might experiment with to find the best performance. An EQ might help. It also looks like he might have one or two doorways that can close which many times can change a subs response. He IMO is also a NUT! I should know. Here he is matching a $399 Emo sub (no offense to Emotiva) with a Buchardt A500 speaker which has built-in amplifiers and processing in each speaker plus built-in loudness compensation. Very complicated speaker, at about $4500 wireless pr. This is not a sub I would match with these Danish speakers. I'm sure there would be a language issue!  I think monkumonku is right when he used the word weird. |

Zeos is one of those that entertain. He is not Andrew Robinson by any stretch or any of the Stereophile goons. He swears a bit much so I have to be careful where I listen to him. Sometimes his reviews are fun to watch. Sometimes a waste of bandwidth. He is part of the Joshua Valour who I think is better. Or DMS or any of the YouTube gang. There is no denying his success. Has zero to do whether you like him or not. Irrelevant. His audience is large and loyal. Take him for what he is. Entertainment. Easy huh?

Zeos is one of those that entertain. He is not Andrew Robinson by any stretch or any of the Stereophile goons. He swears a bit much so I have to be careful where I listen to him. Sometimes his reviews are fun to watch. Sometimes a waste of bandwidth. He is part of the Joshua Valour who I think is better. Or DMS or any of the YouTube gang. There is no denying his success. Did you watch the entire video? I thought it was simply an awful review so I watched it again . Not entertaining at all. .......... He used the F-word 10 times! Very unprofessional IMO, even for a YouTube video. ......... IMO he doesn't know the difference between boomy and tight bass. It might have sounded louder to him from the closet, but not defined. ......... He had no idea that closing one or both of the two door might significantly improve the bass over stuffing it in the closet with associated rattles. ......... I almost got dizzy watching his "fire hose" video panning. He could have used a tripod for large parts of his review. A video primer might educate him. ......... A confusing mess of how to hook up the speakers and sub. The sub should have been in the main room. Very nice main speakers. Very sad excuse for a review. |

Zeos has over 200k subscribers and as I'm sure most of you realize, Youtubers are simply the new generation of "salesman", so yes, although it's hard to believe it, Zeos will help sell a ton of product with his gibberish and crazy review style. Personally, I would rather watch a review from Joshua Valor, John Darko, The Audiophile Man, Thomas & Stereo, Zero Fidelity, and New Record Day... but that's just my humble opinion.

The likes of Robinson, Guttenberg and Valour and DMS and the Home Theater reviewers skewer Zeos amazingly. There are a huge following on his channel because of his review and life Channel, and his off YouTube stream. He is successful. No denying that. Finding the information important to you may be much less of a success. Frequently I see something new he reviews and find others doing it. The fact Emotiva even bothers with him is about product reach and awareness. Zeos has the audience. I am not just a fan, just looking at his results. Many YouTube creators are a waste of bandwidth, and Zeos for many is great. Many think he is useless too. I think for me he is of dubious value. I could do a better review. But I don't have the reach he does. At the end it is about the numbers, and his are pretty respective even though I think mostly he is an idiot. |
