Does anyone know the what the Bass control does to the frequency response on the TA-100?
After 2 years of loving this receiver paired with the T1s, I am finally adding a sub! Super excited about this. Iʻve always been a little conceptually sad at the lack of ability to high-pass the mains on this unit. My friend would tell me "Cross it over at 80, tweak the level until it sounds good, enjoy music and donʻt worry about it", but I kinda wish I could do better.
So, in theory, would it make any sense to set the Bass on the receiver to -4 or something and then tweak the sub to match? Would be convenient if the crossover was around 80, but Iʻm guessing itʻs more like 2-300...
Thoughts? Thanks!

Aren't there curves and 'hints' in the speaker documentation?
Crossing to a sub at 200 to 300hz? Ridiculously HIGH. A single sub at that poimt will be easily located by ear....even in a dark room.
Crossing below 80hz is more like it. And limits the possibility of locating the sub 'by ear'.....

I just looked at the TA-100 specs. Sub outs are SUMMED which means MONO. This is normal since very little L/R information exists in MOST recordings, anyway, at those frequencies.
Do the Bass / Treble controls have any effect on the sub outs? A question for EMO.
If 'no', that means you use the subs crossover....and adjust by 'ear'.
It MIGHT make sense, depending on the bass turnover frequency in the TA-100 to turn it down a little but THAT also is subject to experiment.
My system has a preamp with limited bass management. I turn the main speakers down at about 50hz and run the sub full range, using ITS crossover at about 40hz.
That means limited overlap between main speakers and sub....which I have found helps clarity and imaging.
