OK, quick update for everyone:
I’m currently using the beta for PS5 firmware version 2.0. I signed up to get early access to the SSD expansion, but noticed the audio dropouts have been happening with much less frequency. Possible that Sony ironed out the issues on the console side?

I would try sony x1/x2 samsung above a series 6, jvc or toshiba all on the latest firmwwares..
I tend to stay away from house brands like vizio and others yes they might be good tv's with direct connection add an avr/processor/hdmi switch the hdmi interconnect might fail due to the sub standard ports on the tv, and i doubt the brand keeps the support specs in check between the above menntioned components it is easier to blame the avr when it can be the tv at fault..
My suggestion try a different brand tv to discount the tv being at fault sounds like hdcp issue between the tv and mc700 as it sounds like it is booting into console splash screen and you are getting lock out at user login am i correct???
Last i checked 2 output doesn't make a input even knowing th arc/earc on the tv can also function as a input with limited function as long as you are connecting the arc to the input of the avr you shouldn't have an issue the the arc/earc of the avr is is either to function as a sound bar output or zone2 output...
