Soooooo........went to turn it on and got the click (blue lights)....and back to standby color .....hit the button, click ( blight lights flash ) and back to standby color.......cycled it 50 more times....using remote and the main button.....same result. A year ago I sent it back for this very same issue......couple hundred bucks and few weeks later, she was all set. I remember way back when reading a post where someone mentioned these things can be very temperamental to temperature variations.....so with nothing to lose ( besides my patience and a 12 pack ) I found an old hair dryer.......10 mins later after blow drying the top vents, I hit the front button and on she comes, like a magic trick. I'm not sending this back for another flat rate fee fix.....I'm leaving it turned on 24/7 over the next several months, or possibly selling it. You shouldn't have to blow dry your preamp to use it.
Happy Thanksgiving people of the Lounge.....
Peace out!
Scott

You can't just blow dry - you've got to put her curlers in too!

FWIW, I always leave my SS gear on all the time, unless we are gone from home for a period of time. It does waste a little bit of energy with source gear but doubt its anywhere near what it cost to run a refrigerator or freezer, let alone a whole house AC or heating system. This has worked well for me for a few decades or more.

A blow dryer should never have to be used to start your preamp. I'm leaning towards getting rid of it......and buying a Schiit Freya+. Christmas might come early for me....Hahaha.

its silly things like this that have prevented me from buying anything new from emo other than the pt-100. FWIW, with all of the Emotiva gear that I’ve purchased over the years (which has been a LOT), I’ve only encountered an issue with two pieces. My UMC-1 had a trigger board go out and my UMC-200 had the infamous power board issue. Both were promptly repaired and returned in perfect working condition under warranty. Both remained in perfect working condition until I retired them. I’ve owned two XSP-1s (Gen1 and Gen2) and have yet to encounter an issue with either. My Gen1 was an original preorder. So why let one person’s bad experience prevent you from purchasing an otherwise good product...? Life happens... why miss the dance?

im not that easily moved one way or the other most of the time. frankly its not the 1st time I read about issues with the various products and ive owned quite a few of them and not had issues with them but they were always under a certain dollar amount and age. I also have no need for multichannel processors so I havnt really looked into the newer ht stuff .
but anyway...ive seen many more than 1 complaint. just pointing it out since you said dont let 1 person blah blah blah....
incidentally...I ordered the new PT1 tonight...but again..its a simple unit and apparently not as easy to mess up. i never saw anyone with a complaint about a pt100 malfunction.
