Question about Placement of B1+--close to rear wall

I am seriously considering purchasing Airmotiva B1+ speakers.  However, because of the arrangement of the room in which I will place them, the only place they can go will leave them about 7 or 8 inches from the rear wall.  Will I get unwanted bass "boominess" from the speakers if I put them there?

I say, try it. It's a bookshelf speaker, so if it's on a shelf then it will be close to the wall, right?

It's got a rear facing port, but considering the size of the speaker it might even be better closer to the wall. Depends on the wall. Mine are 1" thick plaster, so it's like concrete, very rigid. 1/2" drywall is more flexible and less brittle.

So, try it and find out for yourself.
