Hi,
My set-top box has been upgraded recently. It now only outputs Dolby Digital Plus. However, in my country (Belgium), almost all the TV channels are in stereo and as such only 2 channels of the Dolby Digital Plus stream are used. I'd like to apply Dolby Pro Logic II Movie (or DTS Neo:6 Cinema) to this stereo sound received from a Dolby Digital Plus stream. However, the MC-700 only allows stereo, all stereo and direct modes from a Dolby Digital Plus signal. Did I miss something ?
Thanks,
Philippe

They may be padding the stereo sources with 6 channels of empty audio
In this case you can only upmix by getting the set-top box to internally "down-mix" to 2 channel (which will be fine for stereo sources) and output that to the MC-700

Thank you for your answer. I guess, I didn't explain correctly my issue. The set-top box sends a DD+ signal with only the left and right channels, all the others channels are "empty" (thus a 2.0 stream in DD+). As there is no configuration in the set-top box to send the signal as PCM or to upmix to 5.1, I'm stuck with a stereo signal (only the left and right loudspeakers are producing sound, and not the center one and the surround ones). What I'd like to be able to do is to "tell" the MC-700 to upmix this 2.0 signal to a 5.1 signal by using the PLII Movie algorithm. Btw, my previous receiver, a Marantz NR16xx series was able to do that (but the sound of the Emotiva MC-700 is way better by a huge factor). Just to be complete, I also use a NVidia Shield as a source for Netflix & Amazon Prime, and the streams from these services are Dolby Digital Plus with a 5.1 signal which works perfectly well. I, of course, do not want to apply a PLII Movie algorithm to these streams
