Have a bluetooth receiver which enables me to play music from my ipad/iphone through the front panel input jack. Can this music be recorded on tape or a cd recorder? I’m assuming you have an XMC-1, I would say you should be able to do that. You could make analog recordings from the tape outs to something like a cassette deck, or digital recordings on say a PC by using the Coax or Optical outputs. I also assume you want to record ‘streamed’ content as music in the Music App is already recorded? But let’s also consider what’s happening to the signal, (A)=Analog, (D)=Digital. 1st example, record to cassette: iPhone App (Music, Amazon HD, etc) (D) —> Bluetooth Wireless (D) —> Bluetooth Receiver [D2A] —> Front Panel Input (A) —> XMC-1 (A) —> Tape Out (A) —> Cassette (A) 2nd example, record to PC or Mac iPhone App (Music, Amazon HD, etc) (D) —> Bluetooth Wireless (D) —> Bluetooth Receiver (D2A) —> Front Panel Input (A) —> XMC-1 (A2D) —> Coax Out (D) —> PC (D) In example 1 there is one digital to analog conversion done by the BT receiver, if it’s good, the recording should be OK — you could also bypass the XMC-1 and go directly from the BT receiver to the cassette deck. In example 2 the signal gets converted twice, D2A by the BT box, and A2D by the XMC-1, if they’re both good the recoding should be OK, but it’s usually best to eliminate unnecessary conversions. So there are two examples, other possibilities exist, what do you really want to do?
