Hi all! I’m still fairly new to my MC-700 (and amps) and mostly love it all. One feature that’s essential is the TRIM button on the remote to boost the center channel since many shows and movies have such loud music that we can’t understand the dialog.
However, it seems that the TRIM info is only shown on the display on the front of the unit and not on the attached TV. The display is quite small and not readable from our chairs. I checked the options and set the display to all operational info but that didn’t help.
So, I either have to get up and stand in front of the MC-700 or use the Trims menu in the main menu mode.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks,
David

Why not just boost the center level in the setup. That would work for 3/5 or 7.1 material and would still leave you with a clean 2.1 for music? It sounds like the EMO-Q is not setting the center channel gain high enough. I have the same issue at times with an XMC-1 after running Dirac. I am able to use a phone app to boost the center if necessary (only on some video material).

I don't want to change it in setup since I only want this occasionally for specific shows and like that doing it via the TRIM button isn't saved and resets automatically. As for adjusting this via Dirac, that won't work. First, the MC-700 only has EmoQ so I use a MiniDSP DDRC-88 for Dirac. Second, neither the MC-700 nor the DDRC-88 are networked so neither of them have apps. Looks like I just have to walk over to the MC-700 when I need to do this. Very weird that Emotiva doesn't display this on the HDMI output. Oh well.
