TA-100 amp for TV/Movies?

Howdy,

I'm new here.
I'm thinking of purchasing a new TA-100 integrated amp for the purpose of a basic TV/Movie/FM radio system. The only inputs w/ be optical output from TV and coaxial output from bluray player.
The speakers are Monitor Audio Silver S6 (90db @ 8ohms) floor speakers.
Dialogue clarity is paramount when we watch the British TV shows on TV. Sound effects should not overpower the dialogue.
Lastly, I don't plan on purchasing any other Emotiva amp combo and only interested in the TA-100 (or BasX A-100 w/ cheap DAC) because of our budget. The only other option is a preowned integrated amp from Marantz or NAD in the same price range.

I'm looking forward to your feedback on TA-100.

That should work just fine.

JUST MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR TV TO DELIVER STEREO PCM AUDIO FROM ITS OPTICAL OUTPUT.

On most TVs you can choose whether the optical output delivers a surround sound or PCM stereo audio signal.

Since the TA-100 is a stereo device it will play stereo but not surround sound.

(When the TV is set to stereo it will automatically convert anything in surround sound to the appropriate stereo output format.)

PCM audio from optical out for 2 channel is what my Sony outputs. HDMI carries surround.
I've decided to go with a used Marantz PM6006 integrated locally because of the smoother sound.

That's too bad, the TA-100 is an excellent piece and is an amazing deal for $399, I owned one in which I ended up selling to a buddy as I changed to powered monitors, one of the best deals in audio for a small 2ch setup IMO. congrats on the purchase and happy listening as in the end if it makes us happy that's what counts, Monitor Audio were my first real speaker purchase back in the day, excellent sound and very nice build quality.

The TA-100 is highly recommended. Plus it comes with 3 year warranty.
