I want to use the trigger output of a TA-100 to drive a relay to turn on an external amp that does mot have a trigger input. Is there any information available on the current driving capability of a trigger output for Emotiva equipment?

Diffwrent unit I know, but the XMC-1 was 100ma if I recall. That said, I would not drive a traditional electromagnetic coli with it.... instead I would use a low current solid state relay such as the G3VM-351A << link from digikey

Maybe that's still too much for the TA-100.

Maybe that's still too much for the TA-100. Actually this device will support 120ma for its output load. Trigger current is 3ma. The issue is this part has an on resistance of 25 ohms. It can only support a 14W load at 25 deg C, I want to control a vintage 65 watt/ch amp, If the trigger is good for 100ma as JKCashin states, then I think a relay will work. For driving a coil, I just need an anti-parallel diode to deal with the inductive kick at turn on.

Use the device I mentioned to trigger a real relay, or look for one with better specs. And 120ma is the max, not the trigger current.
