Now when they discontinued this unit i hope Emotiva ditch Cirrus chip once for all.
That i hope for are a 7.2 processor with better sound chip like the Xmc-1 was before Atmos got to be standard.
Dont need Atmos so if this save money and can get a better sound unit its good for me.
Focus on better sound quality at a price like the refurbished unit for 1199 Usd but software support.
Dream is Hdmi 2.1 videoboard so it future proof and support for Dirac.
Are i to optimistic and what are your hopes and wishes?

I'd be happy if they came out with something similar to what the never launched Emersa EMP-1 7.1-channel AV preamp was supposed to be.
It would have to have new features and the most recent audio format, codecs and HDMI, of course. Probably it would need at least 9 channels, to keep up with the current trend and broaden its appeal.
I am personally not interested in anything beyond 5-ch for HT. I'd rather have a slim form factor 5 or 7-ch prepro that can do 2-ch well than a bazillion channel beast with crappy 2-ch performances.
I am happy with my Fusion 8100 and I would change it only if I could go separate without breaking the bank.
The Emersa line held promises but it never happened.
I known that ideally a dedicated 2-ch system is best, but in the home we are now that is not an option.

Focus on sound quality at a affordable price. Old Xmc-1 owners sayed it was really good on 2 channels for stereo listening. Will get my Mc700 back from repair and own it many years but Emo-Q are really bad so i tweaked it manually instead with Db sound meter and used rew for frequences instead to get it better. But always want a better quality unit and if i can get like Xmc-1 quality at todays refurbished units with similiar channels i bought it directly in Sweden at my retailer and want local warranty and support its alot easier as a interntional customer. MC700 dropped software support very early in my mind and want this to improve and get alot better, Emo-Q are really bad so i want a unit with Dirac instead, 2 XLR for subwoofers i missed on this unit so that are a wish from me, 1 Toslink are on the low side also. That i think all users find out was when switch channels on a cable box with different audio codecs you got a pop sound and when Emotiva now this for 3 years with the Cirrus chip and never fix it must be a hardware fault. Recommendation i got was to switch audio on the cable box to Toslink for its a hdmi trouble and with only 1 input thats a problem if i use more devices and that was many years since then.

Before the emersa emp1 was shelved their was talk about making it an atmos decoder as that was the way the industry was moving [even just 5.1.2] swedenevguru . As it is with the price of all the new 16ch pre pros and people not liking the uptick in price ;if anything Emo would save some money and have a unique pre pro utilising the older 7.1.4 chipsets as its much more feasible to have lower count channels for smaller rooms .Theres examples like the Mcintosh mx100 and Lyngdorf MP40 going this route to save some coin though its all relative This would have a better more diverse hierarchy among models ; they could even ditch the osd for a tablet app to make hdmi more reliable . You can always get a minidsp with dirac if emoq doesnt suit ?
