Legitimate question about older products. Yet, Iām met with rude and sarcastic replies. Thought this forum was full of good people, I was wrong. A lot of us wouldn't remember something like this. I mean bootman found the original linked forum post regarding it, so I am assuming it was truly an offer. I think you got your answer though with no transfer of warranty with the amps, so everything should be good. There are a lot of sarcastic people in forums and you have to prepare to take everything with a grain of salt.

Legitimate question about older products. Yet, Iām met with rude and sarcastic replies. Thought this forum was full of good people, I was wrong. I'll give you a serious answer....in 2 parts. First? How good can an amp selling for EMO prices be? At least from the longevity measure? Second? How much would a lifetime warranty be worth to the original purchaser of the amp? I might add that if such an amp had a Transferable warranty? No reason whatsoever to sell it for anything less than 'new'. Such extended warranties cost a bundle to the issuing company and must in effect be 'purchased' by the end user / beneficiary. That's about as simple an answer as is possible short of quotes from 'vintage' warranty documents from EMO.

In all fairness to frog? I don't think I've EVER heard of a lifetime warranty in the hifi / stereo / HT space.

Found my info.
Early on, there were 5 pairs of xpa monoblocs, offered with a laser etched front plate,, special numbered small logo on the face, and the warranty only to the original purchaser. And the price was different, as a portion of the cost of the amps was donated to st Jude,(st Jude amplifiers)
Found two people who have mentioned this in older posts, and other forums, hopefully their emails are still active.
Trying to find out more info from them,....price, photos of front plate, back photo, owners manual, and there is a booklet which came with the amp, which has specs of the amplifiers, as they were all bench tested by a technician prior to shipping out.
Not easy finding all this info, a lot of forums, and most are regular editions, or the newer editions. Not,much info on these special edition ones.........the search continues. Thank you for the serious replies.

The continued advice to call Emo and his continued refusal and ongoing attempts to get his answers in this thread are just a gift that keeps on giving.

What I recall the St.Jude xpa-1 amps were limited to 5 pair. They had name and serial number tags on the front. They were no different than other xpa-1 amps other than, documentation with measured specs and a lifetime warranty to the "ORIGINAL" purchaser. The price was higher, $1500 maybe with a donation to St.Jude in the purchasers name.
This thread does have entertainment value.

Yeah but this one is.... lifetime! Lifetime is meaningless. One or two discontinued parts, game over. š Russ No, lifetime is lifetime. But be aware that means lifetime of the parts, not you or your ownership.
