Does Emotiva have any plans to update the iOS “XMC Remote” app to work with the RMC-1/L? The current version does not work at all with the iPhone 12 Pro.

Some time ago they mentioned plans for a new version, but I doubt it’s a high priority as many have asked this same question and there’s been no response.

This is a dumb question, maybe.....wasn't it a lounge member who created the app and not Emotiva? Did Emotiva say they would carry the torch forward?
Just asking as I haven't really followed this closely.

A related question: would Emotiva be supportive of a 3rd party, either the one that created the currently available app or another, to update or generate a new app? My belief is that an app is needed to keep the Emotiva processors competitive, and widen their appeal.

Just asking as I haven't really followed this closely. I started the following thread in 2015 when the XMC-1, and the ‘Lesniak’ iOS, iPadOS, and Android apps for it, were released. In the 3rd post Hair Nick clarified that they were the ‘Official’ Emotiva Apps, and that Emotiva helped with the development. You have to wonder if Emotiva can keep up. With 14.5 OS in March for instance.

You have to wonder if Emotiva can keep up. With 14.5 OS in March for instance. iPadOS 14.x broke the App on most newer iPads, iOS 14.x broke the newest iPhones. Not sure of the Android status. It would be nice to know if the App will ever be back. |

You have to wonder why Apple keeps releasing updates that break Apps and software that were previously working fine.
I have to say that here because people always voice the same complaint when Microsoft does the exact same thing.
(And, yes, I'm sure their excuse is: "We had to make it more secure... Sorrrryyyyyy...." )

Apple has never had the same regard for compatibility as Microsoft. Frankly, if Emotiva wants to play on their platform, deal with it. They make 100s of billions in revenue, so it seems to be working for them. Treating software as a one-time activity with no plan for maintenance will only lead to discord.

Wow! Awesome. Working great for me. Cleaner look with more features than the previous version. I have an iPhone 11 with the latest iOS. I did have to delete the old XMC Remote and restart my IPhone before I could get it to recognize my RMC-1. Excellent work. Thanks!

Worked immediately. No phone restart, no previous app delete.

Sadly, does not work on iOS 14.5 which is coming out real soon. Hope author has an update.
