I am very new to actually looking into what my movies/music are doing in a room in the way of measurement and detail of sound I have always adjusted manually and just figured out what sounded the best to me. I have been buying and collecting speakers/subs and now purchased from EMO a processor and amp (xmc-1 & xpa 7) that has just been a game changer compared to a overburdened Denon 990 and a onkyo m-282 that I used to Bi amp my front towers.. I have accumulated two complete sets of 7 channels worth of Boston speakers (two sets of vr3 towers, 2 vr12 centers and 4 pairs of CR-6 bookshelf speakers ) which has turned into probably overkill for a Movie theater/Concert hall I am constructing in my basement (I have roughly 1500 sq feet)that will be dedicated to this project and pile of speakers . The Idea was to get another xpa 7 to drive the second set by splitting the signal from the xmc 1 . the subs are another topic but plan on having 4 two velodyne optium 12 BG in the front and two older Velodyne SPL 12 rbg in the rear they are pretty close to the same output optium has 1200/2400 and the spl 1000/2000 ..I currently have two of the subs and a extra old boston PV-600 I just need to purchase two amp panels from Velodyne to repair the Second set of subs that I found in need of repair.. I know this is kinda a cut and paste backyard build but so far it sounds pretty amazing considering its set up in my office/PC gaming room..

Welcome! Sounds like an interesting project. I'm in the middle of doing the same in my basement, so I understand the joys and frustrations that will come with the build. 1500 sq. ft. is a lot of area. Mine's only a bit over 400 sq. ft. at roughly 18' x 23'. Lots of Emo gear in mine as well.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
Cheers!
