I know this has been discussed to some degree here, I searched a little last night but did not find exactly what i was seeking clarification on, so... I've been using the PT-100 / A300 for some time now and using either a single coax cable to LFE on my RSL Speedwoofer 10S or the RSL wireless module (currently connection method). These connections do not provide true bass management as the speakers are still running full range while the sub is using it's crossover frequency control set by the user. On a side note, i find the bass to be too prominent unless i keep the subs volume way low (yes this could be a function of placement). Anyway, i was watching a few youtube vids last night and it made me question whether this is the best or only way to connect the PT-100 to my sub, so looking at the owner's manual to the RSL, they specifically call out using the LFE for home theater use (which i've always done in the past with AVR's), BUT for 2- Channel audio to use 2 sets of RCA's, i've attached their diagram below. In this method, would this use the subs crossover as bass management therefore not sending a full range signal to my speakers?

Succinct. To the point. Thanks. Follow up question...since the PT-100's sub outs are summed mono not stereo, can i use a single mono cable from sub out pt-100 to RSL sub line in (LFE), then RCA's on the subs line outs to the A300? or should i just stick with dual RCA's?

That sounds right... and you can do the same thing with our "Flex subs"...
The only drawback occurs if your subs are on the other side of the room... Since the then the main signal has to travel both ways... to the sub and then back again... (This means significantly longer cable runs... and you can;t do it with wireless options...)
I should also note that, when you're running your main speakers full range, your main speakers will roll off at the physical limit of their low end response. This will obviously vary from speaker to speaker and with room placement as well. Therefore, since you cannot control where the speaker rolls off, you need to use the crossover adjustment on the sub to match it. And, since you may not know exactly where that frequency is, some experimentation may be required.
In order to get a good result, you must match the phase, crossover frequency, and level properly between the two.
(With bass management in place the crossover frequency is actively controlled, and accurately matched, for you for both the main speaker and the sub.)

You need to use A STEREO PAIR... from the MAIN OUTPUTS on the PT-1. And a STEREO PAIR going from the sub to the A-300.
If you use the summed output then the signal going to the sub will be mono... And the signal going from the sub to the A-300 will be mono... And you'll be listening to mono...

Yeah up to this point i've not had an easy time perfectly matching the sub to my speakers which is why i think using the sub's bass management should help. What actually got me thinking about this was 'The Cheapaudioman' discussing your SE8 sub as he goes over different connection options and the high pass filter etc....now i want one!

I "was" going to argue a point with Keith, however, upon looking at the manual for your subs it became clear that my answer is NOT correct. While a lot of subs that have Line Outs on them can be used for BM by virtue of their Crossover, the RSL Speedwoofer cannot. The outputs have full range being outputted from them. My answer was dependent upon the bass being limited by the Crossover Setting on the sub. So Keith is correct. I change my answer to: No. From the RSL manual: To answer the second question, your scenario would've given each sub a different outcome, so I would've advised against the two connection methods being used concurrently.
