I already have a large home theater with the RMC-1. I now have $600 in Emobucks to spend so I'm debating what to do with them 👍. I don't need anything in the theater so I'm debating how best to take advantage of the Emobucks.
I have a moderate sized flat screen in the Family Room. I don't want to deal with a proper surround system as it will never be as good as my HT, but I like the idea of the sound in the Family Room being better than a sound bar.
My first thought was to get the T-Zero+ and a TA-100 and have the optical out from the TV go the integrated amp. I have a Fire Stick 4k plugged directly into the TV so I can stream video and music from any of the major services and as a secondary system that could work quite well.
Then I read an article about a 2.2.2 system and I thought wow that could really open up the sound stage for non-serious audio and video... particularly if the mains are slightly undersized.
So, now I'm thinking about getting either the T-Zero+ or T-1+ speakers and adding a pair of A-1 speakers... and possibly a C1+ later if I feel a virtual center channel isn't good enough.
With that in mind I have a few questions.
1. Will the A-1 fit on top of the T-Zero+ speakers? It looks like they'll easily fit on the T-1+. Of course simplifying the wiring would be nice. Do either of those towers look better with the A-1 on them? Also, can the A-1 be ceiling mounted? Do you think they would sound better ceiling mounted (or high up on the wall) vs up firing? Would pairing the T-1+ to the Vaulta sound markedly better?
2. Will the T-1+ sound OK without a sub for casual listening? Keep in mind right now I just want something that sounds better than a sound bar. I have subs I can use if needed but I'd prefer to not need them if possible.
Thanks!
