Just posting this in case anyone encounters this.
I seem to have bad luck with the HDMI boards. Some of you may recall my post about my original board failing back in December. It was replaced by my very helpful UK distributor under warranty. As I tried to update to FW 2.2, it gave a HDMI board failure message and then failed to boot (error message on board failure).
So sent it back for another look and while a new board allowed the XMC-2 to boot (confirming a board problem), it again failed when trying to update to FW2.2.
He has contacted Emotiva for more ideas. Will keep you all posted.
Cheers Lok

Just a quick update. It is thought it is still a HDMI board issue. We are waiting for a new board to be shipped over. Hope its not stuck at the Suez.....

So it looks like a deeper issue. New HDMI boards get bricked when attempting the new firmware update. So my excellent UK distributor replaced the whole unit. With the new firmware!
All working well so far (fingers crossed). Low power startup seem to have some issues with the network. Takes a while to get IP address. I think this was mentioned in another thread. So went back to Video standby. ARC seems to be working smoothly now. So fingers crossed!
