Is it possible to revert back to the previous version? It was working so well for me (except for Zone 2 audio). With firmware 2.2 I am getting an HDMI drop and relock ALL THE TIME! Just navigating around the UI it is constantly dropping out. It sees like just about every time I enter and exit an app it is causing my screen to go black, then the TV's Dolby Vision logo comes on, then video returns. Here's a video of what I'm seeing - gofile.io/d/p0aNqb

OK I did a little more debugging and found the issue. The Apple TV appears to be sending an input change request every time I hit the "Menu" button. Apparently the old FW just ignored this since it was already the active input. However 2.2 seems to be attempting to switch every time. I had to disable Input Change for CEC settings.

A few weeks ago I reverted/updated between firmwares 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2, multiple times. You just need to make sure to do a couple cold boots and factory resets for each firmware being applied. I did this to track why things suddenly changed in my system after updating the XMC-2 to FW2.2. But it turns out it is directly related to the firmware update my Sony tv did a few days after I updated the XMC-2. Prior to the Sony update I was able to leave the XMC-2 HDMI CEC setting to Enabled with no bad effect, but not now.
No difference in operation in my system for using ARC with each XMC-2 firmware version, same with ATV4K. So the problems I originally thought were related to FW2.2 are really due to the Sony TV Firmware update that happened just after the XMC-2 firmware update.
The tv has been losing the HDMI input when I skip around watching TiVo. Changing things on the XMC-2 has no effect, but changing things on the tv does and will restore the video connection after getting lost. The tv has become so sensitive to using the TiVo features, but I haven't been able to discover the magic setting that I need to disable, and there are more settings that were added with that last Sony update. It's really frustrating.

I don't have this issue as my Samsung TV is from late 2015. I have all ARC/CEC turned off. The problem is not there for me. The ATV4K still sends the message....not sure if Emotiva can fix this from their end as ttocs mentioned, among others that it's a TV manufacturer issue. Fingers crossed....

Yes. I reported this a while back. But how frustrating right? I nearly had a heart attack when I saw this happening so frequently. I was thinking, "can I live with this for the next few months (or longer) until the next firmware update?" I was relieved when I realized what was going on. I can live without auto input switching for a while until this gets sorted out.

CEC and ARC, the devils twins recently joined by their younger twisted sister eARC, she's just as naughty.

Add me to the group that has CEC/ARC turned off. My AppleTV 4k takes a few seconds to lock in the HDMI signal but is flawless after that. I should add that I had to use one of these gadgets to get the ATV to send Atmos to the XMC-2. The gadget also cured my PS4 problems (no sound when set to output 4k).

My ATV is the center of my setup. I have a Plex server with thousands of movies and all my music, and I am using it for live tv with my OTA antenna. I am down to just 1 remote - the ATV remote. CEC is a necessary evil here because with 1 click of the remote I can power on my TV, RMC-1L, and ATV, control volume, and power everything down. I can even turn everything on using Siri.
On a side note - my wife was very happy that I simplified this. She loves this setup.

Any solutions? Seems, I have also some problems with my ATV 4k, Emotiva xmc-2 and TV. TV automatically switches the sound out to ARC and it requires my manual efforts to change the tv sound to its Internal speaker if I do not want to use power amplifier with external passive speakers. If I turn off and then turn on my TV and other components, TV doesn’t show ATV, only PS5. Both ATV and PS5 are being connected with XMC-2. Changing HDMI-ports doesn’t help, ps5 is visible on TV snd is fully operational, but ATV stays hidden. To force ATV to start working again I need to make power off, to disconnect all hdmi-cables and to re-launch all the components.

You should read the last few pages of the new Owner's thread, my system is working very well with the exception of the 'font loading' you will read about, but others have different opinions.
