It looks like my UMC-200 has a hardware problem. It boots up fine, but there is no audio and the HDMI pass-through is "weak" (for lack of better word). For audio, it always shows "stereo" on the UMC-200 display and has no sound output at all, regardless of whether I use an HDMI, optical, or even the built-in FM turner as the audio source. For video, the UMC-200's HDMI output seems to be very weak. When using the cable box as a source, for example, the HDMI handshake with the projector takes 10 or 15 seconds of flashing video to complete the HDMI handshake, if it completes the handshake at all, and even after that the colors on the screen are very far off. As soon as I change the channel on the cable box, the picture goes black and HDMI struggles to handshake again. Does anybody know what hardware failure could cause the symptoms above? Additional Background:I did have a problem a couple years ago with the UMC-200 being stuck on the "loading..." menu during the power-on boot-up process -- but I replaced C18 & C19 with upgraded capacitors as documented here -> emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/41827/umc-infinitive-loading-after-power. I have the upgraded caps, and it is booting up fine, so the new problem seems to be a different issue

Additional Info: I left the UMC-200 unplugged all night to try to do more complete (power deprived) reset. When I first turned it back on after , it showed the error on the "Error: OSD Flash not Match". Then it powered up as normal but still had same issues with weak HDMI negotiation and no sound regardless of source (always shows "stereo" for sound mode on the UMC-200. When I power cycle it again, I don't get the flash memory error, but the UMC-200 still does not work (weak HDMI, no sound).
For the flash memory error, is there an internal battery within the UMC-200 for memory storage that needs to be replaced?

Why did it have to be capacitors?

Do you still have the UMC-200? If so, are you interested in selling it for parts? Thanks!

I still have it. I'm using a different preamp now.
