I've come across a couple of songs that just sound fabulous on my system and maybe on yours too. The first one is "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman. Her voice is mesmerizing and her guitar is almost haunting. Second, "Bird On A Wire" by Jennifer Warren off her Famous Blue Raincoat 1986 album. Third, "Music Box" and "Last Island" by Peter Mayer off his Music Box album. The imaging, clarity and channel separation on any of these is superb. Close your eyes and you're on stage with them!
If you have a multi channel system, try listening to any of these in Neo6 or whatever you use to split 2 channels into 5,7,11,16 etc.
I forgot to add "Avalon" by Roxy Music and pretty much anything off of Poco's "Legend" and Super Tramp's "Breakfast on America" Albums.
If you have any of your favorites to share, here would be a good place to do so.
Thanks, Paul
Great songs! Sweeet sounds!

link Poco's Legend Album is very well recorded and sounds great especially on a multi-channel system (Neo-6 for example). Try listen to : "Spellbound", "Barbados", "Legend", etc. and see if you agree.

I like the fact that you made a point of this. Two SPEAKER purists would have you believe that’s the only way to listen, while discounting what an intelligently laid out surround system can do specifically for music. A few tracks?? The gains I picked up from immersive sound had me revisiting most of my collection. Bill

If nothing else, seven channel stereo fills the room better than just two channel, and you can hear the back channels more clearly. I use Neo6 exclusively, it sounds like you're on stage with the musicians. I can't imagine what 9,11 or even 16 channels would sound like, but at $1,000 per speaker, seven channels is about my limit.

AL Stewart's "Where Are They Now" was very well recorded. His music is complex with a lot of shuttle accents. He doesn't use trac over trac while recording, so the channel separation sounds superb using Neo6 Multi-Channel playback. His "Year Of The Cat" is my favorite CD.

The best way to “show off your awesome sound system” is to let your critics bring their own stuff over to judge.

Almost anything from Peter Gabriel. "So" is the most well known. I like to use his DVD "Play: The Videos" because it is a compilation of his most popular videos that he personally helped remix in 5.1 Surround. Absolutely stunning on a good system.

I have to add "Long Distance Runaround" by the group Yes, played in Neo6. The channel separation especially in the beginning will blow you away! Here's a Youtube version www.youtube.com/watch?v=La9Me7alNqA
