Finally, happy to see a new ATV !!! Yes, could offer better performance, though I’m not sure how much difference most of us will see or hear. That said I’ll get one and bump the older ones to other systems. |

I’ll be pre-ordering one April 30, next Friday, day one! I've got a $25 gift cert to Crutchfield...will order one through them when in stock....move my current ATV4K to the bedroom and give my 1080p ATV to one of the kids (whoever wants it). |

Meh... I'm sticking with the two I have for now. I can tell you, having ran the 14.5 betas, that some of the more interesting features will be coming to the current model when tvOS 14.5 sees its "general" release in the coming days. I'm running the "release candidate" now. Without HDMI 2.1 compatibility in the Gen3 processors (and no eARC for audio return if connected directly to an HDMI 2.1 compatible display), nothing that would rely on the HDMI 2.1 standard is usable. So, for most of us, the new ATV4K would see a speed bump, faster wireless (whereas I'm already hardwired) and a new remote (which will also be available separately). But knowing myself the way I do, check with me in a week, I'll have likely changed my mind...  |

I’m not a gamer and I’ve not done much of any research on the Apple Arcade, but won’t HDMI 2.1 be useful for 4K@120 for the gamer crowd?

As for the remote, mine is collecting dust as I exclusively use a Harmony which is way more intuitive than the Apple remote. |

Heck - the native apps in my LG OLED often outperform the ATV4k! I've never been fond of the native apps in any TV. I much prefer an outboard box/processor. At least with Samsung and Vizio, I've found the native apps to not be supported after a short amount of time and they tend to slow down quite a bit with time. Alot of people hate the Apple remote...at least the previous version. I've found that once you figure out how to use it, it's not so bad. Hopefully the new one is an improvement. As to the ATV itself, it's typical Apple, well built and well thought out for the most part. I also have a top of the line Roku from a year or two ago. It works fine, but is definitely less "high end" in terms of feel. |

There's always been a love/hate relationship with the Siri remote.... Most often, I use my Harmony's BT function to control the ATV4K (as well as my Nvidia Shield), but still find my Siri remote irreplaceable. I can't begin to count how many times I've grabbed the Siri remote, pressed the Siri button to ask " what did he say...?". I don't think any other device will back up 15 second, turn on the subtitles, play the segment again, and then turn off the subtitles while it continues to play.... |

Another interesting part of the new product line has been talked about for some time, and now the merging / blending of the iPad and iMac seems almost complete. The iMac looks virtually like a 24” iPad and with the M1 chip in both now, and the Big Sur extensions on macOS, they run many of the same Apps. Pretty soon there won’t be much to distinguish them besides size and batteries.

Even though I have one Tile tracker that I have on my keys (misplace them quite a bit), I'm intrigued by the Airtags especially since I'm entrenched in the Apple environment. The only thing I don't like about them is that you have to buy or make some sort of key ring holder to attach to your key ring. Tile has a built in holder to attach to your current key ring. These Airtags would also make a good gift for people with iphones....11 and up....not too bad at $29 each or $99 for four.

For a bag or backpack you can always find a pocket to put the Airtag in. Depending how thick (8mm) the Airtag is, you could find a place in a tradional wallet and keep your wallet in your front pocket to avoid sitting on it. To attach it to keys you need a separate key ring unless you have the imagination to McGiver something. I suppose if you wanted to cheap out you could attach velcro to it....or maybe a magnet...to a metal object....anyway.... |

Just ordered one Airtag from Apple for my brother-in-law's birthday. I still need to find a "holder" of some sort that is not super expensive. Belkin has a couple, but not in stock currently.
I guess I'll get something affordable from Amazon....

I'm definitely interested in an airtag. I hope the price drops though. That's substantially more than the trackr's which I used to be able to get for about 10 bucks when they went on sale.
