My PC does not have bluetooth capability (but does have USB2 and 3). I wish to use bluetooth earbuds of quality at least as good as the amazon echo buds I have. My PC is about 10 feet away from me at all times. If possible, but not essential, I would like an easy way to change the volume. This can be from a remote or from buttons on the earbud. Ideally, I am hoping for a setup where after an initial setup, I can turn the earbuds on and off easily where it will automatically connect.
I would use it mostly for music and movies (youtube). 1. What type of PC hardware would I need for this to happen? (Can anybody reccomend a bluetooth USB adapter that works well)? 2. What bluetooth earbud would you want to use for PC use? 3. Any other tips?

So, if the computer is controlling the volume use your mouse (which should be capable from 10 feet away) to change the volume. A programable mouse may even be able to assign something like the scroll wheel to the volume function for a particular application. It's been a hot minute since I bothered with building computers, but I'm thinking you can still get a sound card that has a remote for it that will change volume. But, then to send that analog signal to an adapter to convert it may be more expense than it's worth.
Most headphones/ear buds should have a complement of start/stop/pause, next/previous track, etc. buttons on-board.

Just an update I have got a working Bluetooth system for my Windows 10 PC but it’s not exactly to my satisfaction. I needed a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. But unfortunately nearly everyone required a driver and even worse they were all no-name brands. I didn’t know if I could trust those drivers. So I finally found this, which was nearly twice as much as other 5.0 drivers but it was from Asus with an Asus provided driver. It throwed up no warnings as being unsigned or anything so I guess the driver is fine. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFBNG7F/I pared it with my echo buds 1st gen. The pairing process worked fine however, there were two requirements, you had to forget the device on your phone. Then you HAD to press the button on the case to reset the echo buds or something. Otherwise it will ask you for a passcode. After installation, I found some good things. I could open the case at any time and the echo buds would be automatically detected. No manual connection needed. The other is that after it connects, the audio automatically switches to Bluetooth until the echo buds are put back in the case. If I take an echo bud out of my ear it will pause a video if I wish to. It also appeared that any prior equalization (not sure on this) and button presets that I had programmed into it using the alexa app STAYED. This was good as that meant I could customize it. I also found I could enable the passthrough mode using the double tap AND play music and video without it defaulting to noise reduction. So I was pretty happy. The two things I am not as happy about is that the sound quality isn’t as good as my HD700 headphones though it is decent. The other major thing is that there is a noticeable delay in lip syncing. It’s not horrible. You can watch some music videos but you can tell the voices aren’t exactly synced up. I would say that is significant flaw and probably the most annoying one. Right now I am interested in finding higher quality Bluetooth earbuds than the Amazon Echo Buds for the PC. Intersting if anybody has tried the anker Liberty Pro earbuds
