looking to buy the Emotiva C2+ and T2+ and need a receiver with pre-out capabilities just incase i need them as these speakers are rated at 4ohms. I have a Sony x900f 75" tv and just leaving this setup as 3.1 for now, maybe 5.1 or 5.2 in the future but that's as far as i'd go. It seems there's almost no difference between the x3400h and x3500h, but the x3600h does add some features and maybe some hardware changes to the mix, but i'm not really sure they would benefit my setup at all. The x3400h starts at around $699.99, and then the other 2 models increase that price by $100 each step up. I'm leaning towards the x3400h since I don't feel any of them would drive my speakers better or anything, or make any noticeable impact in sound quality but would just like input from those more experienced.

The day I went to separates I never went back to a receiver, as always everyone is different but for me a dedicated power amp added to my then Yamaha receiver was an instant upgrade, my system now I can turn the volume up when I want movies to be more immersive and the speakers being driven by my amplifier bring clean, dynamic un-distorted sound and I love it. I say go for the x3400 and add the new A3 amp for your LCR and leave the rest when you go that route powered off the receiver.
