Facebook Live going on now to introduce Audirvana Studio Grand (9 — 10 AM PDT)
Highlights so far: * Audirvana 3.5 is EoL, the license is still good, but will no longer be updated * Studio Grand is subscription only, about $70 / year or $7 / month * May be more streaming partners integrated * Multiple devices can be licensed, but only used one at a time * Full support for macOS (Intel & M1), and Windows * Studio Grand will be released Sunday May 16, 2021 * After May 16 you will no longer be able to purchase Audirvana 3.5
… more to come
Edit: Added Audirvana Origin to this thread (4/28/2022)

This sucks, I like Audirvana as it was a one time purchase which will no longer be updated but instead another monthly/yearly subscription, one can only afford so many of these and it seems more and more of this going on, so disappointing as I'm trying to cut monthly costs. Guess I will keep using 3.5 until the day my iPad or Mac Mini wont support it because of it being outdated

Guess I will keep using 3.5 until the day my iPad or Mac Mini wont support it because of it being outdated I agree, while I understand that a developer needs to come up with a financial model that allows them to continue improving and supporting a product (and put food on the table), it seems that with subscriptions we end up paying for things we don’t use or need. I also like Audirvana and my only want with it is that album sorting worked properly. Like you, I’ll continue to use 3.5 as long as it does what I need, and then decide what’s next.

As much as I love Audirvana, count me in as one who will use 3.5 until it no longer works for me. This isn’t the type of thing I’m willing to pay a “subscription” to use...

I couldn’t agree more with the previous comments, all of them. One can only subscribe to so many things and as for me I’ve eliminated as many as possible already including but not limited to streaming services too. I’ll pass on the “upgrade”.

I as well understand the profit model and I don't mind paying for software but a one time price of $70 IMO is more than enough, or a minimal upgrade cost every so many years, I mainly use Audirvana to play both my local media and Tidal on my main system and using the App on my iPad to control my music outside to zone 2, I actually use Tidal through it the most so already paying for Tidal and then another monthly fee to pay for Audirvana for more a of a remote feature is crazy haha, but it is what it is and like all of us here so far seems we will use it till it no longer works.

It appears the Studio Grand subscription model may not be as successful as hoped, Audirvana has added a new player dubbed “Origin”. This sounds like a replacement for the original Audirvana player, however there will be no streaming integration, it will only play your local library. It will not require a subscription, but will require an additional one time payment as Audirvana originally did, currently $89 (there is a 30 day free trial). I’ve expanded the scope of this thread to include Origin discussion as well (original Audirvana discussion also welcome). Here’s the Origin product page … audirvana.com/audirvana-origin/

Yeah I received the promotional piece on this via email a few days ago but haven't had the time to really investigate. Streaming is not that important for me so this might be a possible upgrade from A 3.5. I've been absent these last few weeks or is it months now just too many other other things going on. Thanks for posting.

I wanted to try Audirvana but on Linux pc that's not offered.
Chad posted that JRiver was half off earlier this year and forgot to jump on that deal. Darn.

I got the email as well but really have no interest, I'll keep using the Audirvana software I currently have until I can't, I still enjoy it but these days more broke than ever so can't afford to keep buying this stuff.
