Meanwhile I have left the device disconnected from power for 2 days and turned it on now to check how's it going. There was no "popping" for about first 3 minutes, then it started from all the channels at a slower rhythm (frequency) - about 4-5 seconds between the first and the second "pop", and with every other pop the rhythm got a bit faster and after several "pops" the rhythm has settled on the ~190 milliseconds - about the same as the OP attachment. The device stops "popping" once put on stand by with the "Lowest Power" option, BUT it still "pops" with the "Video Remains On" standby. Haven’t been in touch yet with Emotiva technical support?

Just about guaranteed a capacitor, but that doesn’t help. More than likely at this point. Perhaps the OP is international while exhausting all options?

Haven’t been in touch yet with Emotiva technical support? I have wrote an email to the support today with all the details. I am in Israel and thought, fortunately, the device is still on the last month of it's 5 years warranty, getting it delivered to the factory in US would be quite a hassle. Hopefully the fix may be managed somehow remotely. Yet, you guys suggest it is probably a capacitor, so, considering all the mentioned troubleshooting I've done eliminating most of the options, I kinda ready to the support reply inviting me to pack up the device and getting it shipped.

If you don’t hear from them soon you should figure out a time to call, it’s still possible the problem might be on a board that you could replace yourself. Make sure to tell them your warranty is about to expire.

Update
Yesterday I have got a reply from the support team :" From the description, and the recording, it sounds like there is a problem with the power supply in your XMC-1. Unfortunately, this is a hardware problem, and can be caused by a faulty component on any of several boards. Therefore your XMC-1 is going to have to come in for repair."
The proper insured shipping of the unit to the US is quite expensive from Israel - about $300 US, but it seems that I do not have a choice considering the circumstances. Therefore I have decided to pull a trigger for the XMC-2 trade offer. I have a 5.2 setup, and not really into the 16 channels ATMOS and the DTS:X ATM. However I ldo like the XMC very much and since my unit's warranty is going to expire soon, I thing in the long term it would be a wiser investment that paying $300 for the XMC-1 shipping only to get the unit fixed. Fortunately I do have the original box and all the factory accessories. I gave a call to Emotiva at the US and after they checked the details I have got a confirmation by phone that my unit is eligible for the trade offer in the current condition and that I should process the payment through the trade page on the Emotiva's web site and then I will get the shipping details by e-mail. I processed a payment and received an order confirmation from Emotiva. Additional e-mail includes the steps for the shipping process for the US customers, but for the international customers there is only the following : "If you are an international customer, you will not receive a shipping label and do not need to drop off your unit at UPS. You can arrange your shipment with the carrier of your choosing".
Well that is cool, but there is no address that I should arrange the shipping to... There is no shipping address stated on the trade page on the website neither. It only says : "To take advantage of this trade-in offer, your original XMC-1 must be returned to our factory here in the USA, and your new XMC-2 will be shipped to you from this location."
I assume that the FACTORY address is the one that printed on the original shipping box of the XMC-1 unit : Emotiva Audio Corporation 135 Southeast Parkway Court Franklin, TN 37064
I have called the CS again, but it seems that they they are closed until Monday and I would like to ship it today/tomorrow.
Can anyone confirm, is the mentioned address correct for the "factory here in the USA" definition ? Should I ship the unit to this location for the trade ?
Thx a lot !

You need to confirm the shipping address with Emotiva. Just ask, they are all very nice to work with. I think you made a wise choice.

I went through my email from when I did my trade in and see that they sent me a shipping label, however the address you have is what is currently published for equipment returns, so if you must send it before talking to them on Monday I think that will work. But, I’d think you should have an RMA# and often they won’t accept packages that don’t have one. Safer in your case to wait, talk to them and be sure. I agree with ttocs, you made the right choice.

I have waited for the Emotiva address confirmation. It is different than the one printed on the box. The device is on it's way to Emotiva for the XMC-2 trade.
