Hi. Just seeing if anyone can give some feedback here. I am currently auditioning the T0's. They sound great. Usage is 50/50 mix of music and movies. They are in an open room with high vaulted ceilings. Source is a Marantz Nr1609, power is supplied by A-150 amp. Klipsch R-12w subwoofer (which I plan on upgrading at some point) Even though the t0's sound good, I think they're holding back just a little when watching movies. Maybe it's the subwoofer. With music they sound pretty good - nice airy sound but maybe could benefit from a slightly bigger speaker and a little more oomph. What would I gain by going from the T0's to the T1's?

Go t2s. I've heard them and they are FANTASTIC with lots of oomph in the bass. Also they might do a bit better than your Klipsch. Unfortunately I don't know what the t1s sound like.

I don't think the T2's will fly for one main reason - Wife! She barely approves of the T0's, the T1's are only slightly larger. Also she thinks the T0's sound great; so jumping price by $600 bucks will garner me a 3 year long honey-do list! I can find plenty of pretty speakers in the 700 and under range (Q Acoustics 3050i, Wharfedale 12.3, 11.4's) but I don't think they'll sound as good as the Emotiva's. But I am considering the 3050i's since there get such great reviews everywhere.

I had to convince mine to let me order the sennheiser hd800s headphones!

Just a thought... could you replace the wife with another model that would work better with the T2's, or are you otherwise mostly happy with the current wife-unit? As an alternative, you could consider just going with no wife-unit at all... I have heard from some members here and on other forums that while expensive to implement, this can yield some significant gains in other areas.

Inform the wife-unit that T3s are the size of refrigerators! And that you believe that would be grossly huge in your abode. Hence your wise decision to step down to T2s.

I can’t speak to the T1s but my T2s made more of an improvement on the sound of my vinyls than any other format. It makes no sense, but they did. I listen to more vinyl than ever now. The sound is sooooo good!

Thanks for all of the laughs. I don't think the T2's will fly since wife 2.0 says that the new lawnmower and pellet grill ate into my spending money. Yes, wife 2.0 is a much better version than wife 1.0; even though it did cost more on the back end to deactivate that version. After 7 years of trips, parties, etc I decided to settle down and implement wife 2.0. This version has a better (inter)face and the chassis(body) is much improved. Wife 2.0 is very intuitive and rarely has any hiccups.
I'm a 2hr drive from their headquarters but they said they're still not open to the public. Return shipping shouldn't be that bad so I went ahead and ordered the T1's. I'll let you guys know how big of a difference it makes in my current setup.

Glad to hear, and looking forward to your evaluation. Also... glad 2.0 is working out well for you. I am also blessed in that regard. 2.0 surprised me with my 1st Emotiva pieces, a UMC-1 & XPA-5. She hid them under the very bed we slept in until Christmas! Then at Emofest she set up a fake drawing with Big Dan & Cathy so it appeared I had won my XMC-1... haha! I fell for it big time.

I'm still on 1.0 after 26 years... I got lucky.
Looking forward to your thoughts on the T1s

So after a few days of playing around with the T1's here's my opinion: They are great. Everything times 3 of the T0's; with just a little more clarity in the midrange. The T0's sounded great, but my space was a little too big for them. I see (hear) the difference after being able to do an A/B comparison over a few days. With the T0's, I found myself constantly tweaking sound and crossover settings depending on the music that was playing. With the T1's, they sounded great right out of the box. No messing with the sound controls, just a few minutes to get them spaced off the wall properly and that's it. They play a little louder at the same volume level, sound great with the A-150 amp. And movies have that little extra "oomph" added to them as well. Now I absolutely hate my Klipsch (thinks cheap Costco) 12" subwoofer. Somehow it blends better with the T1's (probably the T1's covering for some of it's low end deficiencies). The subwoofer is next to get replaced; but it's not a pressing issue for now. If anyone else is on the fence and you have a moderately sized room - go for the T1's. I can only imagine what the T2's sound like. Also, just FYI. The cheapaudioman (Randy) said he had some T1's in house for testing a couple of weeks ago. I'll be eager to see his take on these since he has auditioned every Emotiva airmotive speaker.

I know this is an old thread, but I had a similar question and after hours of searching the last few days on here and google and also looking for reviews, I couldn't find an answer to my own dilemma so I posted a separate thread. It wasn't until I started wandering down the B&W speakers path and decided to search comparisons between them and Airmotiv did your thread come up lol. Go figure. This last post really helped me out. I could EASILY see myself sitting on the couch making adjustments depending on the material, and I'd really prefer to avoid that. I think I'm finally convinced to go with the T1+. Thanks!

The main reason to buy T1 (or T2) speakers rather than T-zero models is that both the bigger speakers are 3-way speakers. The Zero is a two-way.
With the dedicated midrange driver, you get lower transient intermodulation distortion (because the woofer excursion is less).
This is a measurable (and audible, to my ears) improvement. Go with the 3-way models. You won’t regret it!
