I bought my Emotiva LPA-1 many years ago from a fellow member. One of my ungrateful son's decided to put a bottle of water on top of it without a lid, and you can guess what happened. He spilled the water on it, and did say anything. My wife turned the HT on to listen to music, and smoked started to come out of the LPA-1. My wife promptly turned it off.
I am not sure how to go about assessing the damage to it, and if it is even worth trying to repair. Money is tight at the moment, and after talking to a few repair shops in L.A., CA they suggested to trash it. This is my 1st Emotiva amp, and to me it has sentimental value, but I wanted to see what fellow Emotiva member suggest before I make a final decision. Thank you.
I will post pictures later today.

How did this turn out? Kids BANISHED from stereo room?
Will EMO part with a Schematic? You'll need that for local repair....IF you can find a competent tech who is willing to take this job on...
