I’m wanting to build a 5.2.4 system for our HT setup (70% movies & TV//20% sports/10% music) and I’ve narrowed my L/C/R choices to the following options:
1: T0 & C2
2: Ascend HTM-200SE or CBM-170 & C2
3: HTD Versa HTS-1 & C2
Options 2 and 3 are for WAF who wants wall mounted as our space is limited for towers (still trying to convince her for towers). Our space is 11.5’ W x 33’ L x 9’ H with a 77” TV mounted on wall. We sit at about 9.5’ from the TV. I’m looking to pair these with 2x SVS-PB-1000 or 1000 pros and either Denon X3700/4700H or Marantz SR6015/7015 (assuming I can save some more cash). My biggest question for this forum:
If I get the T0/C2 pairing will the Denon or Marantz have enough juice to power the emotiva speakers? The 4 ohm impedance concerns me as my height and surrounds will all be 8 ohm (Polk OWM3 for height and TBD for surrounds). Would I need one of the 3 channel amps for the emotivas? We don’t listen to material super loud, we just want clear dialogue with movies and a soundstage that envelops more than our Vizio SB4015 soundbar. TIA!!
