There was a prototype of this high end receiver a few years ago. It would be an ideal product for my basement setup as I have a good 3 channel amplifier.
Perhaps this is one of the product releases in the 2nd half of 2021?

If I may, I’ve owned an Avantage Yamaha RX-A 3020 for a few years and its very versatile. Its an 11 channel receiver that has audio out for all channels but amps for only 9. I’ve used it with its own amp and with external. I’ve had it configured for just two channel and in almost every other conceivable way. It does lack Atmos but it has been a very fun and enjoyable receiver. Having the ability to use external amplifier (s) gives an advantage of versatility as well as simplicity.

I prefer to have a better amplifier for the front 3 and let the receiver power the other channels.

The BB DACs have a natural sound that I’ve always loved. It was a sad day when Yamaha decided to go with the Sabre DACs. Like I stated before, Ive used it at the restaurant for two channel, at home for 11.1 (4) and now it has replaced a perfectly operational UMC-200, as a 7.1 (3) Its so much easier to set up and it does sound much better. I’ll either sell the UMC-200 or move it to another location, perhaps the restaurant dining room or kitchen. Ill pair it with a single Sherbourn 2/150 (two channel amp). This amp has a twin and I’ve owned them longer than any of my Emotiva gear.

Especially the Mega home setups.

I think the XMR makes sense. I mean, you got everything ready. HDMI, Power Supplies, Amplifiers, Processor. Now it just needs to go together. This could be a big boon to all especially since everyone knows Emotiva does not make Receivers. Well, maybe that won't be true for long. Come on it has to happen. History needs to be rewritten.

That’s not a bad option. The one thing I don’t want to do is buy another XMC2. Bad news - the receiver section would be the same as an XMC-2 or RMC depending on how many of the channels they decide to make fully balanced.
