As some of you already know I picked up a pair of Martin Logan expressions(powered by two HC-1's), with the center channel (the focus) and pair it with a SVS 3000 non ported sub. My challenge is I always forget which is better specific to LFE. If I want my svs 3000 to handle the LFE then I have to set the expressions as large and then my XMC-2 gives me the option to set the SVS 3000 as LFE instead of Mono. My other option is to set the expressions as small put them at a 40 crossover and then my SVS is set as only mono for center sub.(I also assume I have the option to place the SVS on the right or left sub input on the XMC-2 and choose double mono)In testing it out it seams that I get much more "boom" when I have the SVS handling LFE, however when set up the other way though less "boomy" it appears to be more punchy. I am new to calibrating sound as I just used ARC on the expressions and this weekend I plan to try DIRAC for the first time. Regardless I was wondering if my application is 99% movies is one way more suggested then the other. I want to make sure I get it set up correctly prior to running DIRAC:)
Thanks in Advance!

If you are only using one subwoofer channel, then setup that channel a Mono, and it won't matter if it's Left Sub or Center Sub, but for practicality just use the Center Sub Output. There's a bug that causes enormously elevated bass into Large channels if Center Sub is setup as LFE and no other subwoofer is setup as Mono. I highly recommend to avoid setting the Center Sub as LFE when your Fronts are setup as Large unless there's a second sub setup for Mono. Just set the Center Sub to Mono and it will handle all Bass Management for Small channels, and also handle all LFE. It does both. Then you can setup your Fronts as Large. Once you get this sorted, please post about the HC-1 amps!

Roger that and again thank you for the assistance! Side question what speaker wire are you using, anything I should look into? I was taking a look at this, www.morrowaudio.com/collections/speaker-cable-singleAny thoughts as right now I am using speaker cable from SVS. I will post an update once HC-1s are installed.

I am baffled, I ran ARC and now after doing so even though the center plays no role it appears that its much softer with the dialog. I have to put it plus 10db just to hear it ok. this is the ML focus. Not sure why this would be. Any suggestions?

You might want to cold boot the processor - turn it off for a couple minutes using the rear power switch. What is the speaker setup right now? Which speakers are setup as Large, Small, etc. Have you set the Levels using a SPL meter? Menu:Setup:Speakers:Preset 1:Levels
