I have a UPA-5 which is now 10 years old. Few days back, the amp stopped working and there is no audio, On power on, all 5 LED lights turns from red to blue normally but nothing happens. I see that the 230V LED is on and not 110V. So for some reasons, the amp is sensing the voltage as 230 though it is 110. Has anyone see similar issue and know what to look for ?
I contacted Emotiva and they can repair for a flat fee. But iam not sure if that is worth the money and shipping.

Do you like the amp? If so, it's just the shipping to get it fixed. You might also ask if they replace anything out of spec.

There is a flat fee to repair as this is out of warranty. So the total cost to repair is the flat fee + shipping. I was checking if someone had similar issues and any information available, if i have to do this DIY.

There is a flat fee to repair as this is out of warranty. So the total cost to repair is the flat fee + shipping. I was checking if someone had similar issues and any information available, if i have to do this DIY. I had an XPA-5 Gen 1 that developed a problem after eight years of ownership. One of the channels would intermittently go into "protect" mode. After going back and forth troubleshooting, I called Emotiva and asked about repair outside warranty. It was a flat fee....I don't recall the exact amount...it was quite reasonable....but then I asked if I could trade the amp in on a new Gen 3 and they said yes. I think they offered me $250 or so and they covered shipping. So, I went for the new amp. I originally paid $750 on the Gen 1 on sale. If you like the amp and the repair price is reasonable, why not?

Steve from Emotiva support was more than helpful and shared the schematics with me when i decided to go DIY. It took me some time, but i was able to fix it. I had to replace couple of Zener diodes in the power supply module and the AMP is back now.
Thanks to Steve !
