I have had 3 Emotiva amplifiers and all three have failed within 10 years. Meanwhile my 40 year old receiver from college is still functioning in the garage. If your tired of Emotiva shoddy products what would you step up to? Respond quickly before they delete this. Please don't tell me it is because of speaker wires or interconnects changed everything and power source as well. It is just a crappy product that is designed to fail.

I only expect a product last the amount of the warranty offered. More than that I consider myself lucky. What I consider when I purchase a product is that can be fixed by the manufacturer for a reasonable price. I just got my 10 year Esoteric SACD transport serviced by their authorized repair center for $500, not bad for an expensive transport from 2010.

That’s unfortunate that you had problems. If your shoddy products claim were put to task, you would find MANY parting company with you (and some agreeing too). I have direct experience only with the XMC1. Compared to the Sunfire Theater grand it replaced, the build quality of the XMC was the very first thing that got me, how beautifully it was put together (far better) Unfortunately, my favorite amplifier is long gone from production (Sunfire). Every ten years or so, I revisit where I would send it for service when needed. Nearly 21 years later still, there’s nuthin ta doo but kick back and enjoy

Sorry you’ve been so unfortunate with Emotiva amps. My (and my friends’) experiences have been different.
But you asked about more reliable brands. Some I’d recommend include:
Bryston McIntosh Starke Sound Odyssey Audio Audio by Van Alstine and many “pro” brands
The pro amps (with but few exceptions) don’t generally sound as good as the other brands that I mentioned, but they ARE designed to be reliable, to take abuse, and to deliver wattage for the $$$.
Bryston & Mac offer warranties over longer timeframes, but their pricing is commensurate with the length of their warranties. My other “recommended” brands are on the list based on my personal experience, and on my examination of their design, construction, and parts quality. Make of that what you will.
Cheers

ONE major concern MAY be the availability of documentation. I personally will NOT buy an amp again unless it comes WITH a schematic and some test point data.
NO rocket science in fixing an amp. But many techs won't touch it without. So you are stuck in the manufacturers revolving door.
I have a DAC from Cambridge Audio. Sorry! Yoiu're OURS now!

Look to yoru practices. Run in a hot enclosure? Any power issues, like Zaps, brownouts or a nearby factory? ANYTHING? MTBF for modern semiconductors is pretty long.

I forgot to ask….with all of that amplification failure the cubic room footage….is this a good approximation?? View Attachment15,000 cubic feet and 83db sensitive speakers? Running XPR-1 g2 (a pair, at least) from a 15 amp circuit which is shared with the dish washer and coffee maker? What could possibley go wrong? Man, I'm in a mood today! Blood sugar fine....
