I'm about to get 2 more Emotiva amps, I already have one and love it. I just added a Whole Home Surge protector because I have bad storms where I live and want to protect my equipment as best as possible. I also added a 20 amp outlet in preparation for my new amps. I'm wondering what does Emotiva recommend in terms of a power line conditioner / surge protector that won't limit the voltage to the amp. I'm looking at getting an XPA-7 and the XPA-DR3, and I currently own an XPA-5. I've been looking at these ones so far: Panamax-m4320Panamax-5400PM - rated for 15 AMPs but I think I could still plug it into the 20 amp outlet. Again not sure if this would limit the voltage going to the amp itself. Furman Elite-20 PFi - Looks very nice, but I'm not sure if its more than I need, it's def more than I would like to spend lol Not sure what else I should be looking at, if anything. Thanks for any help.

With bad storms (same as here) I would add whole-house lightning protection as well. At least for us it was two different boxes. I would skip anything before the amps; they don't need it, and most don't really help much (especially those with sacrificial MOVs inside) and/or actually limit the current into the amp (they typically use series inductors for noise filtering and those limit current slew -- don't choke your amps). It's not usually the voltage that is an issue, it is the current peaks the amp draws to keep those output watts flowing.
Not Emotiva, but them's my thoughts - Don

Congratulations! To the best of my knowledge (Emotiva does NOT consult me 🙄🤣) Emotiva does not recommend anything between the amp and wall receptacle. Let us know what they say if you decide to call tomorrow.

I have whole house protection. Plus I have a SurgeCentury ($50) on the processor. Nothing on the power amps (other than the whole house protection). /b

For what it's worth, I'm using a Panamax M5400-PM, which I've had for years, to power all my A/V gear, including two Emotiva amps. Never had any issues. I just can't seem to get past that sick feeling of plugging directly into a wall socket.

Yes......I couldn't remember the other brands besides BrickWall. ZeroSurge is in there. However? For amplifiers? I'd get the 2R-20 and plug into a 20 amp circuit. This has a 12ga power cord not 14...... Amps EAT power and for those guys with the BIG mono blocks? More is better.
Do they make a whole house solution? If I lived in a place like Florida or other ThunderStorm area? Gotta have it.
you still have to worry about CABLE and CABLE TV along with Small Dish which are also conduits for surges getting into your system.....
I was house sitting out in Palm Springs once and a storm blew thru.....in SUMMER. Only thing destroyed? a MODEM on a computer!

You must evaluate such devices BY SOUND. Some seem to suck the life out of amplifiers......
For cleaning up the line noise? I'd PERSONALLY (got one) use an Isolation Transformer........
And than if in a place where I could get at the circuit panel? A WHOLE HOUSE surge protection
solutoin. Surge-X? Brickwall? ZeroSurge? I'd tend to SKIP MOV based devices......
