So other then upgrading my cables and getting Isoacoustic pieces I can finally say I am done with my movie / 2 channel system. I must say I am in audio heaven and couldn't be happier. Thursday I was able to pick up my processor that I have waited months for along with my sub. Friday I set it up , calibrated it, sat back and enjoyed true audio bliss ! As of right now I am running a 5.3.4 setup for movies and a 2.3 set up for my 2 channel system. Down the road when I have more room I plan on adding speakers so I can make it a 9.4.6 system and building a secondary 2 channel system but until then I am going to enjoy every minute of listening! I would love to hear people's opinions and if y'all can think of any tweaks or any cables that might fit my system. Here is a breakdown of my system as it is now. Anthem AVM 70 XSP - 1 gen 2 XPA - DR2 XPA - 2 gen 3 XPA - 3 gen 3 BasX A-300 Panamax MR5100 Bluesound Node 2i Focal Aria 926 Focal Aria 906 Martin Logan SLM XL Focal Dome ( for Atmos) Martin Logan Dynamo 700w x2 JL Audio E-112 Salamander Design Archetype A5 Salamander Design Archetype A2 As of right now I am using Emotiva XLR cables and Mediabridge Speaker cables. There’s a lot of impressive hardware shown in the picture, but without a full room shot, no way to envision what kind of sound you could be getting. Can you add photos?

I can finally say I am done with my movie / 2 channel system. You're cute when you're hopelessly optimistically naïve

I had the AVM60, had a devil of a time with ARC Genesis- after weeks online & phone with Anthem I proved the microphone was bad & Anthem replaced it. But I could never get the highs to roll off after ARC the way I needed. So many nice features, great build quality, very clean & detail sound but only one 12v trigger- what are they thinking?! Thank goodness you have Emo amps with in & out triggers. What was your previous processor?

Hello all,
So sorry for the delayed response as I have been dealing with some health issues. My first AVR was the Yamaha Aventage 2050 and had that for a few years. I was actually very pleased with how the Yamaha sounded when it came to movies but felt it was lacking when I was running just in 2 channel for music. I had always wanted to build a home theater system but never really knew anyone who was into audio so I did what I thought was a good decision by getting everything at once. I bought the Yamaha, 2 Martin logan ESL's , the Martin Logan Motion 8 for my center due to it needing to be on my fireplace mantle, 2 Martin logan Lx16 for my rears along with 2 Martin Logan Dynamo 700w . Movies sounded good but the Yamaha just seemed to lack the ability to drive the ESL's and that is what made me decide to get the XPA-2 gen3 just to drive the Logans. I was amazed at how much of a difference just adding the external amp for my 2 channel system so I slowly started adding more external amps. I got to the point where the Yamaha was only driving my atmos speakers when I finally added them.
Once I finally started meeting people that were in this hobby and started learning more about sound , placement , different speakers and everything else that came along with it is when I decided to change things. I literally replaced everything except my 2 subs and when I added the Anthem AVM 70 and I was blown away. My downstairs is just an open L shaped room that consist of my living room, dining room , kitchen and a formal dining room and the Anthem ARC took everything to the next level . I was hearing things in movies that I hadn't heard before and it just made movies so much more enjoyable. My wife who could care less about any of this was shocked at how good everything sounded. She even wanted to start watching more movies and listening to music. She has even given me the ok to add more speakers and another sub so by the time I am finished I will be running a 9.4.6. My plan is to buy a pair of Focal Sopra No3 for my fronts, move my 926s to the sides and buying another pair for my rears along with 2 more Focal domes for atmos and another JL audio E-112. I have already started replacing my cables with Nordost and I noticed a difference when I added those.
With all the changes I have made I have noticed more clarity, depth , tighter bass , crisper highs , a larger sound stage and it feels like the speakers and subs have disappeared if that makes sense. ( I'm still trying to learn the right terminology to use when describing things) . I pre-ordered the Anthem and had to wait about 2 months to get it and it was so worth the wait. I honestly think the Anthem and Emotiva amps pair very well together. BTW adding more 12v triggers was a great idea.

Finally finished a “cycle” might be a good way to describe it! Then it’s rinse and repeat! Last thing I “finished” was a woofer restoration project, since I’m hooked on vintage loudspeakers.

Haha thats very true. I'm actually talking to my audio guy that I have started buying all my equipment from and he is Recommending the Mark Levinson 5805 along with the Dynaudio Special 40s for a new 2 channel system I'm thinking about building. Based on what I'm seeing the Mark Levinson going for retail and the price for his demo one that comes with the Manufacturers warranty is really making me think about jumping on it. He's an authorized dealer of both so I know if there was any issues everything would be taken care of.
