Hello everyone I haven't been here for a long time. Will there be a successor to xsp 1 ... or is it better to forget?

MAN - any XSP1, Gen. 2 is going to have to be truly exceptional to outdo the BasX PT1. Really...

Boomzilla technically it would be Gen 3. Or XSP-2. It is odd at least no preview of at least sources supported and form factor and so on. It is a Preamplifier, not a Particle Linear Accelerator, or a Preamplifier Processor which is even harder. Lets see, Ray D. Was the last one the project was assigned too and he did great. So now let's get all of our mind powers beamed at Emotiva and wish for a new XSP-2 or Gen 3 XSP-1, and not get a message like enjoy more Ovaltine.

Hello hello,... is there anyone competent here? There are plenty of "competent" people here, but none that can answer your question. The best thing you can do for yourself is to call or write Emotiva directly and see "if" they will give you an acceptable answer. I'd be willing to bet that there will be an eventual replacement for the XSP-1, but since "first class fully analog" preamps are not a front burner product these days, it will likely take a back seat to products that are better sellers.

I'm not going to write anywhere, ...here is the Emo community, many people want to know the answers to such questions.... By the way, I have been observing for many years that emo has given up creating high-class stereo equipment in favor of HT

By the way, I have been observing for many years that emo has given up creating high-class stereo equipment in favor of HT From what I have seen the past few years speakers seem to be the big seller for Emotiva ?, it's been over three years since the XSP-1 was put to rest, though I have no intention of buying anything(Canadian dollar sucks bad) but I'm sure many would be interested in a new x-series 2ch preamp, man I miss the days of affordable stereo gear, there isn't much left anymore, with my last union agreement over the past three years I actually make less money these days. Like mentioned though I would think a new XSP would be a huge hit, the last one was a very nice preamp for the money.

We do have a new high-end stereo preamp in the works. However, our resources to develop and release new products are not unlimited... Therefore we can only release a certain number of new products at a time... And that is even more true for higher-end products that have more extensive and detailed requirements... And, at the moment, there is a lot more demand for home theater gear... You'll probably be seeing our new big stereo preamp pretty soon after we release the next generation of our big processors... Yes... there is one on the way... but no definite date yet. Still nothing new
Processors are late and that's what probably delays Stereo Preamp
Either I need to be patient or choose Michi P5 / Parasound JC2 / NAD M / Musical however they give some noise in speakers with DR2
XMC 2 is dead silent with DR2

We have to remember that Processor Preamplifiers are very complex and costly things to create. And that other things would have to wait. I would love to have something like the XSP too. It is all about timing, and costs of course.

They may have thought the XDA-3 would meet the preamp needs for some, and maybe buy them some time … though its been a long time.

Not really... Well... sort of... The XDA-3 will definitely meet the needs of some people for "a preamp"... And, to be honest, many people these days really need a DAC more than a preamp... But we DO still plan to release a successor to the XSP-1... although it will have digital inputs too... But we've simply been putting most of our effort in that direction into the new versions of our big processors... (And into lower-cost alternatives like our BasX PT1 and PT2... which are quite popular.) But we WILL get there eventually... They may have thought the XDA-3 would meet the preamp needs for some, and maybe buy them some time … though its been a long time.

Any help why XMC-2 with DR2 is really silent , no back noise and other brands / preamps I check at home generate noise when used with DR2
Ground loop problem is solved It's irritating when 3-4k€ preamp sounds noisy
Hope new Emo XSP will be available this year as I am tired of waiting

If you're talking about hiss then, to be quite blunt, it's a matter of design. The gain on our XPA-DR amps is about average... so there's no reason they should be especially sensitive to background noise. And a well designed modern preamp should or could be as quiet or quieter than the preamp part of a processor. To be quite honest I can't think of an excuse for a modern high-end preamp to be noticeably noisy... Unless, again to be blunt, "that simply wasn't a design priority"... For example it's a LOT more difficult to make a quiet preamp that uses vacuum tubes... So many tube designs and tube hybrid designs may sacrifice that "in return for other benefits"... And there could be other reasons along those same lines... Or maybe those 3-4k€ preamps just aren't very well designed... Of course, because of its much higher gain, and RIAA eq, we would expect a phono input to be much less quiet... And, if we're talking about hum, it could be a ground loop issue, or a power supply issue... Any help why XMC-2 with DR2 is really silent , no back noise and other brands / preamps I check at home generate noise when used with DR2
