In-laws are in Fairfax; free hotel!

I understand there MAY be some new Magnepan speakers shown, but won't know for a couple more weeks.

Just looked at those Diptyques. Very cool in appearance. Clean yet interesting in appearance. Currently no US distributers or sellers.

Also, The Listening Room in Maryland, owned by Michael Hoatson, has them. He will be at the show in the Fidelity Imports room I heard the Dityques at CAF last year and at AXOPNA. Excellent speakers. Similarly priced as Magnepan but a bit better bass and smaller dimensions. |

CAF 2023 Nov 10-12Okay here's my plan .... I'm driving down Friday morning and staying over to Saturday so also attending Saturday morning possibly. I asked Emotiva folks if they are there and got no answer, but they are listed as one of the brands in room 701 along with NAD and miniDSP so that's probably a dealer. Fidelity Imports will have the Diptique speakers. They also will have Magnepan speakers including the new 2.7X (debut show for this one!) and a couple others of the new X-mod speakers. I confirmed all that yesterday with the dealer. Suite 551, 553, 555, 557, 559 & 561Don't miss Theoretica Applied Physics (BACCH-SP) Room 549 ... amazing 2-channel spatial demo ... no BS. But for a good laugh and LOTS of BS ... Synergystic Research never disappoints  If anyone else will be there Friday or Saturday, Message me and I'll give you my phone number.

Wish I could make it but wife and I have been traveling constantly for the past 6 weeks. She's in Phoenix this week and I've got the 3 maniacs to get to school.

I love the gear and all that goes with it BUT….that RT. 50 procession into DC….Would take more than that to get me to go back. My daughter is a DC college grad. (You haven’t lived until you’ve picked up a U-HAUL rental trailer from Pennsylvania Ave.)

Update: The new Magnepan at the show will be the 2.7i (not the X-mod option). It will have a new panel, 40" ribbon and new trim design. Room 633.

Capital Audio Fest 2024
I wasn't sure, but now I WILL be going to CAF 2024 in Rockville, MD. I'll be there Thursday - the day before the show opens - and all day Friday.
I'll be helping to set up a system in one of the rooms, and if all goes well it will be 5.1.4 Atmos with Dirac Live. I won't give specifics yet ... waiting to see if the dealer mentions the plan publicly.
Friday I'll be bouncing between that room and a few other rooms that I want to visit to listen to gear.
If anyone will be at the show Friday or is arriving Thursday ... let me know so we can meet up.
A couple rooms not to miss: 749 Theoretica Applied Physics featuring BACCH-SP and BACCH for Mac; Magnepans in room 751 The Listening Room; Tidal gear in the Wilson room ... Doug White from The Voice that Is always plays great music;
