LMAO, picky, picky, picky.
Turntable Foolery strikes again.
Vinyl is today's trendy name and the only reason I use it. I always said "LPs", to differentiate playing Mylar, but which Mylar- cassette or R-to-R? lol (please don't go there if "Mylar" isn't exactly correct- I don't care)
I quit the whole record, tape thing because there was
too much maintenance: the cleaning & adjustments and capstans, idlers, belts, heads, stylus and other replacement parts, That's not fun any more. (Vincent, ya hear me? lol)
I prefer to set in the chair with a monitor in front of me and a remote control in hand. The only need to get off my *bleep* is to refill a drink... and I'm working on that issue: a "Rosey the Robot" because "hey wife, refill my drink" doesn't work, never did.
The Shure with JICO is incredibly good, better than I remember any of my systems sounding before, I like it. There's always a negative though, it's so sensitive that the old "vinyl" still pops & crackles because I can't get them perfectly clean. Oh well, I'm not buying new ones and any album I liked before is on CD or I stream it.
Bottom line for me, digital is better in every way.
Take a guess why I have not bought a tube amp? you get 3 guesses. (hint- there are no more drug stores with tube testers. lol)
I will admit, todays tubes sound pretty darn good.
