I'm considering adding one more sub to my setup. Currently, Emotiva X-REF 12 is doing the duties and happy with it. Just that the itch to add another sub has gone higher with upcoming XMC-2 trade-in. My choice of subs are RS11, SB-3000(used), and SB-2000 pro. Price-wise they are pretty much the same here in Canada. I understand that SVS subs are solid performers and can't go wrong with them, but would like to get some feedback on RS11. Haven't found many reviews, comparisons, or chatter relating to RS11.
Greatly appreciate any inputs and suggestions thrown at me.

Since you already have an X Ref-12, you might want to consider looking for a second one to make system tuning easier. If you're open to other ideas, you might want to sell the X Ref-12 and go with DIY or two same brand subs. There are ported and sealed enclosure kits that are extremely easy to build with wood glue, clamps and some sweat equity. DIY's performance / price point is extremely hard to beat. I originally had a HSU VTF-15 sub and after building an 18" sealed sub and performing some tests , I sold the HSU and built a second one. You can compare subwoofer measurements, output, etc. here: data-bass.com/#/?_k=7z72jqIf you have no interest in DIY, I would go with a pair of SVS or Power Sound Audio subs.

Sure... this is the driver and the sealed enclosure I purchased. They have 10, 12, 15 and 18" kits. I used a Crown XLS 2502 per sub, but you can use other amps based on the amount of power you want / need. www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-UM18-22-18-Ultimax-DVC-Subwoofer-2-ohms-Per-Co-295-518My build thread: www.hificircuit.com/community/threads/um18-diy-sub-build.571/Ported "Mini-Marty" design can be found on AVS Forums; here's one example: www.avsforum.com/threads/mini-marty-dayton-audio-um18-22-18-ultimax-build-thread.2949554/I eventually went DIY for LCR speakers, fantastic dynamics and power handling for HT. We've since moved into a smaller home and due to COVID, I had to put my HT plans on hold; current 2 channel system is in my signature. Previous HT system was built around an XMC-1, XPA-2, XPA-5, 2 Crown XLS 2502 amps, BenQ Projector, 100" screen, etc. etc. Below is the left channel sitting on the 18" sub.

I’d also go with the SVS. Their products have a long lifecycle and they really stand behind their products. They replaced a sledge amp 6 months out of warranty for free for me.
I responded by buying the PB16 a couple years later.
Diy seems like a novel idea but it’s not for everyone.

My buddy has agreed to trade his X-REF 12 for a GR1. Though X-REF 12 is an old horse, I think it's better to go with it to have an identical dual sub setup, without taking a big hit to the wallet. More dough to spend on some amps for atmos. Need to toss a coin between A-800/A-500/A5.

SVS subs are incredibly amazing. There app features is a game changer. You can literally hear your adjustments while configuring through your phone app. I didn’t know much about subwoofers until I got myself an SVS. The hype is worth the money or even exceeds expectations. They say having 2 subs will be better than one but my one 12” sub makes my DiY home theater room sound fantastic to where the wife went from not caring to “spend however much you need to make it sound better.”

This is the model I’ve got my sights on if my HGS18 becomes unserviceable…. www.svsound.com/products/sb16-ultra

Yes…. revival and or continuation is a good thing on some of these threads. “ Which Blu-ray did you just watch last night?” A perfect case in point thread, started in 2010 and continues on as it did today…

It’s the other threads where someone ask about a certain speaker comparison and then a year after the last post someone responds. It makes me laugh sometimes.

Another vote on SVS. I have an SB13 Ultra and the PB1000, both rock my world great. There are allot of good subwoofers out there and sure you could build you own too if you are so inclined. I was pretty close to buying a REL Subwoofer but the SVS are doing a good job for me, I couldn't see spending the extra money for the REL, even though I was a dealer at the time.

SVS here... I know, old thread... I have a pair of their SB-3000's and they are so easy to tune in and make disappear in the room with their ap. I thought of going with a pair of Rel's, as I am primarily two channel now, but after speaking with folks that have owned both, keeping the SB-3000's was a no brainer. I just ordered a SB-1000 (non-Pro) and one of the Airmotiv SE12's, going to have a bedroom shootout!
