Hi, I bought a refurbished XMC-1 earlier this year, and for the most part have loved it, except for this one concern. I've been encountering an issue with one of my playback activities... I have a digital music system (Roon, but that shouldn't matter) and a "Play Music" activity on my remote which: * Powers on the XMC-1, which triggers a power on of my amplifier. * Switches input to correct one (I started with analog 3, moved to analog 1, and now USB for troubleshooting). I've noticed that if I power the XMC-1 down when it is on a different input like HDMI 1, and then come to want to listen to music, it'll power up but no audio will come through when playing back. If I switch the XMC-1 to another input such as Coax 1, and then back to the music input, things will begin to work. However, if I power it off while it is in this music input, and then come back to it later, it'll just work the first time around without any input switching.
In case it matters, equipment involved: * XMC-1 (latest available firmware, 5.15) * BasX A500 * nVidia Shield TV Pro on HDMI 1 * Intel NUC. (USB to XMC-1, and USB to Topping D70 -> analog 1 or 3). * TCL R617 on HDMI output 2 I've also done a full factory reset, followed by just an adjustment to my speaker sizes, availability (L/R/C only) and distances. Anyone have thoughts? Thanks!

For me one question is always LPS or VOS, and does it make a difference?

Hi, thank you for the response. Could you clarify what you're asking? I'm unfamiliar with those terms. A bit of brief searching indicates you might be asking about the power supply type? But of which device?

LPS - Low Power State VOS - Video On Standby I always have mine do a full shutdown when powering off, I have no need for VOS

Ahah! Thank you. That makes more sense.
No, it's not configured for the low power state. I don't necessarily use the video on standby feature, but the faster time to usability is nice.

Sorry, I rushed my answer, but Chad came to the rescue! Just for a test try LPS (Low Power Standby) to see if anything changes. Go into the settings and change to LPS, shut the unit down, turn off the rear switch for a minute, then back on and give it a try. I find LPS more stable, though it doesn’t mean it will fix your problem, but worth a try.

Try using the factory remotes for all devices and see what happens. This will rule out/in a remote control coding issue between the remote and XMC-1.

I've done this. I've found I'm able to reproduce it with the factory remote for the XMC-1.
I programmed input 7 to map to the analog 1 input. I can reproduce it by switching to input 6 (HDMI 6, unconnected to anything). THen switching back to input 7, I have no audio. Switching back/forth from that either up or down (tuner, analog2) and it starts to work immediately. Another thing I, I have the sound mode set to reference stereo, although it doesn't appear to make any difference if I change it back to the default of auto.

Heard back from Emotiva. They suggested that I configure an alternate speaker preset for the problematic inputs, and that seems to help.
